Brandon Schueler Wins Opening Round of Best In The Desert Race Season

Best In The Desert (BITD) doesn’t give UTV racers much of an off-season. It was only a few weeks ago when we were celebrating championships in Pahrump. But, the UTVs afford BITD the ability to host the Bikes, ATVs, and Parker 425 Pre-Run, therefor UTV racers have to suck it up and get the new season underway whether fully prepared or not.

Luckily, prior to Casey’s passing, he allowed a similar event to the UTV World Championship to take shape that added to the Parker 250 event making it a much more fun and exciting kick off to the new season. The UTV Winter Nationals which now host the Casey Folks Parker 250 race bring in production UTV & youth UTV racers in addition to the championship points opening round of the BITD desert UTV race classes.

UTVUnderground was of course in attendance and we had a fantastic time this weekend in Parker both as media and as participants via some of our UTVUnderground youth. Parker provides for a great pit area, fun for camping and provides enough space for everyone to bring their teams & families along. GMZ Race Products plays host to the event and they worked alongside Polaris to raffle off two Polaris machines to participants of the race adding to the events excitement. A total of 271 UTV, Bike & ATV racers (190 UTV) helped make this Parker 250 the largest in history.

Racing kicked off on Friday with Production & Youth UTV races. Saturday played host to the Bikes, ATV’s and desert UTVs. Amazing whether temps played host but a dry winter and no wind made for some of the dustiest conditions ever seen in Parker. One desert racer said he never saw beyond 40mph during the first lap of the desert race while many others trying to charge through the dust found themselves broken and stranded all along the brutal Parker race course.

We want to thank Polaris RZR for helping support our coverage this year which we provided all weekend long via our social media. Also we want to thank Mad Media and our photographers Sebastian Krywult & Daniel Schenkelberg for capturing some awesome images! (we posted everything we got delivered)

We will see you all in Las Vegas for the 50th anniversary of The Mint 400!
