UTVUnderground.com will be working closely with Walker Evans Racing and Holz Racing to bring you up to date information surrounding the build of RJ Anderson's NEW Lucas Oil Unlimited UTV race build. The teams will take RJ's 1 year old race RZR and mesh it together with new technology from the new Polaris RZR XP900. RJ's new car will have the new trailing arm set up with custom Walker Evans Racing Shocks and of course the new DOHC Polaris Pro Star motor. It should be interesting to see how the 2 come together so stay tuned here to UTVUnderground.com for the latest on this build project!

are you doing the old car because you rolled the new xp or was it cheaper to transfer frame and just use drive train from new xp. Iam sure many rzr s guys are wondering wat this will cost.

I think it was more a time thing the new season is right around the corner and to build a car from scratch is time consuming.

This car has nothing to do with the crashed XP, which has been fixed and is currently at the king of the hammers. My old race car was bent from a crash last year and had to be fixed. With me having to race the XP this year anyways, this was the easiest and most cost effective way of doing it.
As far as going from a RZR S to RZR XP, I believe it can be done, but will require a complete rear end swap, driveline, etc. from someone like Holz or XMF..

I here you on the cost you would have to give your race rzrs away anyways i was just wondering on the rear transplant i think thats were you get the extra length. you should post what it would cost to transplant rear of car i beat you will get some hits on it.

Great thread! Lots of speculation on what is going on here, but I can guarantee you that they are not 'putting a XP900 engine in a RZR S.' So here is my educated guess: they have a new stock XP900 frame. They have a crashed RZR S cage/frame. They have complete XP 900 running gear (front diff/hilliard, prop shafts, engine, rear gear case, etc). They will use the upper cage, tin, seats, fuel cell, etc from the old car and graft it onto the stock lower frame...which will obviously accomodate the new engine and drive line. Voila...new XP900 race car.
tatum
02-09-2011, 07:34 AM
They showed the XP frame down to frame rails and then they just put the outer shell of the old cage on the new frame.
Rander637

Yes, but that extra wheelbase is in the frame rails, which we now have an xp frame underneath our old cage...

Just figured you would want to push your seat back as far as you could, with how tall your ass is already... Didnt think you would be able to take advantage of that if you used your old chassis/cage

Joey, to be 100% honest I have no idea what kind of power this motor has. I have been in bed all week with strept throat and my guys have been busting there ass's putting the final touches together. I do know that Kevin Kroyer has been busy though and this motor will be just a "preview" of what's still to come.
Butt just to keep you guys guessing...
Rzr S= 750cc/55hp
Kroyer RZR S= 797cc/88hp
Rzr xp= 875cc/ 88ish hp

Well it looks like the WER Polaris RZR XP 900 will be able to get back on the track this weekend (fingers crossed)
the chassis is just about 100% repaired other than some knuckles which are still bent. The motor is at Kroyer getting the engine mounts repaired which were damaged in the violent tumble.

Since we have almost 6 weeks to the next race at Glen Helen we are going to fix some of the frame damage from the 2nd round crash and clean her up a bit. She's going to get powdercoated, a couple of new body panels, new rear axles(broke R rear on Sunday) and put the big motor back in it(starting gear gave up - but still got a 3rd on Sunday with a near stock motor). Had to give her some love since she is the new points leader!
