Hello Family members,
We will be making our annual trip to Mammoth Lakes for the 4th of July Holiday to enjoy some great riding, camping, fishing, kayaking and just plain relaxing. All are welcome and we would love to have ya:) We will be camping near Big Spring campground off Owens River Rd on Forest Rd 2S85. Check out Post 181 on page 19 for directions and pics. There are tons and tons of things to do. There are hundreds of miles of trails to ride through the Eastern Sierras, numerous lakes and rivers to swim, fish, boat or kayak in. Lots of great hikes and sightseeing and best of all like I said earlier, the town of Mammoth is only 6 miles down the road and it has endless entertainment possibilities. Everything from dinner, dancing, shopping, resturants, clubs or just hanging out in town square listening to live jazz music over a cold beer or glass of wine.
Here are some pics of last years trip to give ya a quick glance of the beauty.
Hope some of can join us!
George & Kathy

Sure, we may be able to do another ride maybe in late August. It is truly an awesome and my favorite place to camp and ride:) As far as location, if you google Big Springs Campground in Mammoth you will see a map. It's very easy to get to. You go north on the 395 and about 7 miles past the town of Mammoth Lakes Rt.203 you turn right on Owens River Rd. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Big Springs Rd. And the Campground is just up a little ways on the left.

Here is a discription of some of the trails around camp:D

The Town of Mammoth Lakes in conjunction with the Forest Services publishes a great map with Off Highway Vehicle trails. It is available at any Ranger Station and Visitor Center. Please you common sense and follow the rules, and remember to leave no trace that you have been in the Forest.
Have Fun.

A1 - East Craters Loop

24 miles round trip / 4WD High Clearance Vehicles only
From Mammoth Lakes, head north on Hwy. 395. Turn right on a dirt road 200 yards past the June Lake Junction. 100 yards down this dirt road there is a kiosk. The east Craters Loop begins here, heading south. The road splits after 200 yards. This marks the beginning and end of the entire loop. Go left, following the directional signs. The sights you see include Mono Craters, Sand Flats and Devil's Punchbowl. The loop follows the same road for 24 bumpy, dusty and spectacular scenic miles.

A2 - Bald Mountain Road

23 miles round trip loop
Leaves Hwy. 395 from the top of Deadman Summit at Logging Camp Road and goes to the Bald Mountain fire lookout station. Stay on 1S05 and follow the directional signs to Bald Mountain Lookout. There are great views and the road is well maintained. A log cabin warming hut at the top is open to the public.

A3 - Sawmill-Alpers Canyon Trail

17 miles one way / High Clearance Vehicle Recommended
Take Sawmill Cutoff Road 3S08 at Shady Rest Campground (across Hwy. 203 from Mc Donald's). This road leads north until it intersects Hwy. 395. Motorcycles and ATVs can cross Hwy. 395 via a tunnel. All other vehicles cross Hwy. 395 at the Scenic Loop Road. Take 3S06 to 2S06 to 2S88 to Owens River Road. Turn left and go a short distance, then turn right on to 2S04 west to 1S05, which head south to join Hwy. 395. This route offers good views and lots of variety of terrain.

A4 - Owens River- Hot Creek Road

17 miles one way
Leaves from Hwy. 395 north of Mammoth Lakes at Owens River Road. The paved road follows the headwaters of the Owens River until the road turns into dirt. Turn right at 3S44 and continue to Hot Creek Geological Site, featuring bubbling hot springs. Route ends back on Hwy. 395 after passing the Hot Creek Fish Hatchery, which is open for tours.

A5 - Lookout Mountain Loop

10 miles round trip / High Clearance Vehicle Recommended
This route starts north of Mammoth Lakes off of Hwy. 395 at 3S06 and heads north. The road circumnavigates Lookout Mountain with a side trip to the top on 2S02. There are spectacular 360° views of the Long Valley Caldera and other volcanic features such as Obsidian Dome and Mono Craters.

A6 - Deadman Creek Trail

6 miles one way
Go west from Hwy. 395 just past the Crestview Rest Area and Owens River Road on 2S05. The road follows Deadman Creek toward its headwaters. Spectacular fall colors at the end of the road in late September.

A7 - Inyo Craters Road

3 miles one way / High Clearance Vehicle Recommended
Leaves from the Mammoth Scenic Loop Road and travels along the base of the Inyo Craters. Park at the craters parking lot for a short walk to the rim of one of the craters. This is a great place to view ancient volcanic activity. Can be used with parts of routes A8 and A6 to make a complete circle around the Inyo Craters.

A8 - Crater Flat Loop

5 miles one way - 4WD High Clearance Vehicle Recommended
From the Mammoth Lakes Scenic Loop, take Inyo Craters Road 3S22. The Crater Flat Loop starts on the left, 500 yards down Inyo Craters Road and goes through Crater Flats and thick Jeffrey Pine forest. Great views of Mammoth Mountain from the flats. Continue to Deadman Creek Road. From here go east all the way to Hwy. 395 or follow Deadman Creek until you reach the campground where Inyo Craters Road leads back to the Scenic Loop.

A9 - San Joaquin Ridge Trail

3 miles one way / 4WD High Clearance Vehicles Only
This old rocky road begins near the Minaret Vista, 30 yards after turning right off of Hwy. 203. The road travels up the ridge to Deadman Pass. Spectacular views of the Minarets, Mammoth Mountain, Long Valley Caldera and the White Mountains from a 360° vantage point. Seasonal closures, so please check with the Ranger Station.

A10 - Knolls Trail

8 Miles one way / High Clearance Vehicle Recommended
Leaves from Shady Rest Campground and follows Sawmill Cutoff Road 3S08 for a few miles before turning left at 3S33. This road climbs up Knob Hill and goes across the top of the Mammoth Knolls. Great overlook of the Town of Mammoth Lakes from several of the side spurs. Meets Mammoth Scenic Loop and continues north to the Inyo Craters Road. Great Views of the Sierra and Mammoth Mountain from several locations on this route.

A11 - Little Antelope Valley

15 miles round trip
Starts at the south end of Hwy. 203 east of Hwy. 395. Turn left at Little Antelope Valley Road 3S05. The road bends to the east and climbs up a hill. From the top, the road winds through both mountain and meadow terrain and affords good views. This route joins route A4 and head south-west past Hot Creek and back to Hwy. 395.

A12 - Sherwin Creek Road

5 miles one way.
Starts on Old Mammoth Road by the Mammoth Museum and Sierra Meadows Ranch on 4S08. There are beautiful meadows and lots of aspen trees by the creek, providing plenty of places to picnic. You'll find great views of Laurel Mountain and the fall colors here are amazing. Also good wildlife viewing. Route ends back on Hwy. 395. Well-maintained dirt road.

A13 - Laurel lakes Road

4 miles one way / 4WD High Clearance Vehicles Only
Leaves from the Sherwin Creek Road 4S08 and climbs a glacial moraine to Laurel Lakes. Outstanding drive in the fall because of the many aspen trees. Good spot to view deer migration in spring and fall. This road is rough, steep and narrow and is recommended for advanced 4WD drivers only!

A14 - Cold Springs / Laurel Ponds Road

3 miles one way
Leaves from the Sherwin Creek Road and goes past the Laurel Settling Ponds. Meadows and wild flowers make this a great spot for picnicking and bird watching. Deer migration and fall colors are spectacular during late September. Aspen trees at the base of Laurel Mountain mark the location of cold springs, a natural cold-water source coming straight out of the ground and flowing down a narrow creek to the ponds.
It is highly recommended that you take a topo map and compass along with you on these adventures, along with the basic tools you will need in case of a flat tire. Check the weather before you depart and carry first - aid, food, water a space blanket and a CB or cellular phone. The topo map that corresponds with these trails is available at the Visitor Center.

Here is a link to the OHV map for the area around camp:) It's a PDF so you can zoom in and move it around. Big Springs Campground is at the Northwest corner of Owens River Rd and Big Springs Trail:)

Also, the trail #'s (A1 A2 A3 ect) from my previous post correspond to the numbers on the map.

Man, why does this have to be launch year!!! We have 3 spacecraft launching August, September and November. I'm knee deep in 2 of them, and it's getting harder to take time off. I'm hoping I can make the 28th this month, but Mammoth is somewhere I've always wanted to go.

If you go in August, do it the first week, Chris starts school the 11th I think.

Have fun and I'm jealous already!!!!

One of our favorite trails is (A13) Laurel Lakes. We strap the kayaks on the RZRs and do the 4 mile gnarly climb up the side of Laurel mountain and then when you reach the top you are greeted with two of the most beautiful crystal clear mountain lakes. We unload coolers and kayaks and paddle around the lake while enjoying a nice lunch and a few barley pops:)

Only down side is that we have to load the RZRs in the trucks or on a trailer for a short distance to the trailhead. It's one of only a few we can't reach rite out of camp.

You can reach it from big springs.... I camp at sherwin creek every year.... matter of fact I will be there august 4 to 10. You can cross highway 395... I do it all the time. I've rode from sherwin all the way up to bald mountain etc...

I was looking at the map lastnight and noticed if we took Owens River Rd all the way around back to the 395 we could jump across and catch the trail on the other side. Is that how you go?

You can surely do it that way.... come up by way of hot creek and then over 395 on to sherwin creek rd. The way I go (coming from sherwin creek camp) is down sherwin creek rd. Cross the 395 and turn left on the road that parralles 395. The dirt trail picks up shortly after that on the right side... before what I believe is a power plant or phone company. The rangers told me any dirt road you see you can ride... and if you need to cross the highway or ride on a short section of asphault road to find a dirt trail then go ahead... (I would be careful with that though) But it's nice up there!!! Nobody harasses you and it's beautiful!

Thanks again Ali:)
I was just looking at the map again and saw what you're talking about. I see the quickest way would be to hit the powerline road on down, cross 395 to Sherwin Creek.
I'm gonna have some new folks with me so it might be nice to do Owens River to Hot Creek then cross the 395. That way we can also check out the Hot Creek Canyon.

I do know that Dave will have Stumpy and maybe also Stumpy Jr with him. Plus I'm sure others will have children with them also:)
This is a family trip for sure and for all ages. There is so much to see and do, one could'nt see and do everything in a years worth of vacation.
This is Kathy and I's favorite place and it's a joy for us to expose our friends and family to such a beautiful area.

The shoot them off over Lake Crowley. The traffic gets pretty crazy down there so last year we took the RZRs to the top of Bald Mountain and watched them from there. It was pretty cool:)
The town of Mammoth Lakes has a good website with a list of all the events for the weekend, check it out! Mammoth Lakes California July 4th Celebration - AllMammoth.com (http://www.allmammoth.com/events/july_4th_celebration.php)

Also is there quiet hours at the campgroung like at 10pm or something we went to yosemite laat summer and the camp rangers were horrible we could not have more than 5 people at a campsite is this place friendly for say a La Familia Feast the way we do it?

Hey Dan,
I'm pretty sure ya need a fishing license if ya wanna fish one of the lakes. I don't think anyone would bother you for throwing a line in the river that runs through camp though:) I will give the Ranger Station a call and find out the scoop.
As for quite hours it's pretty much the same as any semi developed campground, just no generators or rap music after 10pm:D
Plus it's an OHV friendly camp so it's way more relaxed than others.
We have also never had any problems with groups of people. The only thing they enforced last year was having only 1 vehicle and or RV per site with 6 peeps max sleeping on each site. Other than that they didn't care if the whole campground stood around the same fire:)

Hey Dan,
The weather has been 75-80 during the day and 45-50 at night the last few years:) Couldn't have been better if ya ask me:)
Your 3 man raft will be perfect, I will be bringing 2 inflatable kayak/canoes and maybe one or two hard kayaks. They have about 20 feet of snow melt so there's not too many rocks to worry about:)
As far as the water, well ya it's cold but ya know kids don't care:eek:

The Ghost town is well worth the visit:D Between that, all the activities in town, the riding, fishing, hiking and camping it's gonna be a great 4th of July:) On the evening of the 4th we ride to the top of Bald Mountain and watch the fireworks that the town of Mammoth Lakes shoots off over Lake Crowley. Hey Dan,
There are a couple of campgrounds about 10 minutes up the road that have great hot showers for $3 or $4. Kathy uses them every year cause she doesn't like the turning water on and off for agua savings in the RV. So she takes the truck and stands in hot water for 10 or 15 minutes:) Plus there will be plenty of RV's in the group that you guys can enjoy the creature comforts in. Hey Tom,
I'm sure the Nat Geo maps will show the trails of the area. I'm just not sure what the Forest Service trail numbers are. Check out page 2 post #15 and 16, that is a list of the trails in the area around where we camp and the map link is PDF so you can zoom in on it. Also the Ranger station in town has these great color maps for free:)

Well we're less than a month away and I'm super excited to get up there to ride, camp and show you guys what an awesome place Mammoth is:)
I figured since there is so much to do and see, I will set up just one scheduled group ride for Saturday the 2nd of July at 9am. We will leave camp and head to Hot Creek Canyon and chill there for a bit and then head to the Laurel Lakes trailhead. From there we will climb about 6 miles to the top of Laurel Mtn. where we will be greeted by the two Laurel Lakes. Here we will spend a couple hours and give folks a chance to kayak, fish, swim, hike and eat lunch. The trip will be just under 50 miles round trip and about 70% of the trip will be higher speed smooth stuff so it won't really take all that long:)
Then once we return maybe we can put together a potluck BBQ?

Now don't get nervous, we can and will ride everyday if you would like. There are numerous awesome trails in the area with lots of awesome sites to see:)
I was thinking that for other than the scheduled ride on Sat, we could do the a la carte thing and just go whenever. Cause I'm sure with all of the activities going on in town for the Holiday weekend, some peeps may want to head into town, some may want to fish, hike or just lay around and be lazy:D This way nobody has to be on a time table and won't have to rush back cause they might miss something.
Another cool thing we normally do is head to the top of either Bald or Lookout Mtn on the 4th and watch the fireworks the the Town of Mammoth Lakes shoots off over Lake Crawley. It's a great time without dealing with the thousands of peeps that crowd around the lake and jam up the 395 for hours:eek:
Please, if ya have any suggestions or questions just throw them out there. We're game for anything:)

George, what do you think the crowd level will be at the campground? We are coming in Friday, and my in-laws might be coming with us their Mo-ho. There is a chance we might stay at June lake for some of this also, right up the road. I've never camped up there during a holiday, like July 4th.

Dave,
I've been going there for 6 years and have not seen the area fill up. The majority of folks stay at the numerous developed $fee$ campgrounds in Mammoth and June Lakes.
For those doing an extended stay, Mammoth and June Lakes are just a few miles down the road and both have complete RV services.

George, that looks cool. I think we will probably ride out Sat. morning to your camp and meet you there that way we can do the Hot creek ride as well as the Laurel lake ride. Do you use a GPS in your car or a handheld? And if so which model do you have. I have been thinking about getting one before the trip.

That sounds great Arron! I think we're about 10 miles from the Sherwin Creek Campground so it shouldn't take ya too long to get there. You can take Sherwin Creek Rd to the 395, cross over and head north along the 395 it's asphalt for a little way but then you will see the dirt trail that heads north. Just follow the power lines until ya get to Owens River Rd an turn right. Check out the directions to camp on post 181 on page 19. Owens River Rd is also asphalt for that section but you are aloud to ride on it. Pull it up on Google Earth and you will be able to clearly see the trail I'm talking about. As a matter of fact it is the Pink trail in my previous post.

I do have a GPS, it's the Garmin Nuvi 500 and I really like it. You can find it online for $200 or less, it's water and dust proof and comes pre loaded with the ToPo maps. It can be used for driving on and off road, on a bike, on a hike or even in a boat:)
The Lorance HD5M is a popular GPS also for the SxS's it's loaded with features but is in the $5-600 range.
Most of us also have radios so that makes it nice:)

Hello All,
Here are the directions again along with some overview maps of the Ranger/Info Station and a couple of Water/Dump Stations.

As you head north on the 395 you will pass the Mammoth Airport on the right and then shortly after that you will pass Route 203 on the left. 7 miles past the 203 you will come to Owens River Rd. Then follow directions on post 181 on page 19.
If you need to fill up water, fuel and ice before you get to camp, you will want to turn left (West) onto the 203 and head toward the Town of Mammoth. I recomend pulling into Shady Rest campground to get fresh water, it will be just past the Ranger/Info center on the right.
If you need fuel, turn right out of Shady Rest back onto the 203 and there is a Gas Station/Mini Mart just up the road on the left.

Here is the GPS for the Shady Rest Water/Dump
37 38' 52.76" N
118 57' 48.20" W

Here is a Google Map of the Ranger Station, Shady Rest, McDonalds and Gas Station/Mini Mart area.

Unfortunatly we wont be up there till the 7th so I'm sure you will all be gone. Post some good pictures or some points of intrest after you guys get back.

If anyone is still up there we plan on pulling in early Thursday the 7th and pulling out to Lake Tahoe on the 9th. Staying at Sherwin Creek Campground and plan on doing the Laural Lake run Friday.

Hey Jesse,
Most of the peeps will be leaving on the 5th but I think Bill, Bob and Brent were thinking about staying an extra week?
I suggest going to the Ranger Station and getting a free OHV map of the area, they are color and real nice. We will post up pics of our adventure:)
If you're looking for somewhere to ride on Thursday, the Lookout Mtn loop is cool and then the trip to Bald Mtn is fun too! Be safe! You're gonna love Mammoth:)

I am one of TomCav's buddies coming up to Mammoth on the 30th or 1st and thought I would throw this out-

You guys might want to consider looking for a fallback location- with 1/2 of Glass Creek Campground closed this season and the trip falling so close to the 4th it may be next to impossible to get a spot or very many spots in Big Springs. Last year I camped outside Big Springs for 12 days. The campground was filled every night- with the same rigs the entire time. It seems people just move in and stay there all Summer. As was mentioned, there are a few great spots not to far from Big Springs. Depending on how many and how big the rigs- you might get everyone fairly close. It might also be worth parking at the 395 and Deadmans and taking a quick utv run up towards the lower campground if Big Springs is full.

I don't know if someone already put this out there but water is available at the rest stop on the West side of 395 just before turning off the 395 onto Owen's River Road. It's an easy in and out and faster than going into town for H2O- unfortunately the dump station is gone.

Tom has nothing but the finest things to say about all of you and we look forward to meeting everyone!

Hey Chris,
You must have been reading my mind:D Getting up there early in the week in the past I have'nt had an issue at Big Springs but it did get more crowded toward the weekend. With the size of the group that we have and the arrival times ranging from Wed-Fri, I was thinking it would be best to find an area outside Big Spring Campground either on the north or south side of Owens River Rd. That way we will be able to all stay together and park however we want. I'm actually thinking about heading up there this weekend to do a recon mission:D
There are several folks coming up for there first time so I want to try to make it easy as possible:)
I will keep everyone up to date on the location.
Give me a call Chris when you get a chance and we can compare thoughts and come up with a great area! 714-231-4631

No worries Dave, there is plenty of places to camp:) We have 3 places we are going to recon. All of which will hold our group nicely:D This will work out better anyways cause we will have the ability to set up however we like and keep the group together.
I just talked to Chris (Fly-Boy) and he may fly up tomorrow and recon the area for best access. If not I am going to go up Saturday morning and do the same. OK Boys and Girls, we have returned from our Recon mission to Mammoth to find a home for La Famila and we have great news:) After a long hard day of fighting off bears and pissed off cows Kathy and I found an awesome campsite in the pines with room for more than 20 large rigs and easy access. There are no bumper dragging dips or any off-camber hilly crazy stuff to worry about.
The area we found is about 3/4 miles southwest of Big Spring campground. So we will still be close to the river and have great access to the trails.

The new directions are as follows-----
1. From the 395 Turn East onto Owens River Rd
2. Go 2.4 miles and turn Right onto Forest Rd 2S85
3. Stay on 2S85 for 1 mile and you will see camp on your right.

Now that was easy!!:D

Notes.....
As your driving down Owens River Rd about 1.5 miles in, you will start to go down a small grade SLOW WAY DOWN cause Big Spring Rd will quickly come up on your left and then 1/2 mile after Big Spring Rd you will be turning Right onto 2S85.
The GPS for the intersection of Owens River Rd and 2S85 is....
37 44' 58.37 N
118 55' 55.96 W

And then the GPS for the campsite on the 2S85 is.....
37 44' 31.10 N
118 56' 53.47 W

Also if you need to fill up fresh water, just to the South of Owens River Rd on the 395 there is a Rest Stop that is very large and has 3 water fill-up points. 2 by the buildings on the northside of the lot and one on the southside of the lot.
Also I will place large Orange traffic cones at the intersection of Owens River Rd and Forest Rd 2S85 just so ya know your at the right place:)
One more quick note....
The right turn onto 2S85 is not a U turn but close. This won't be a problem for trailers and 5er's but a large MoHo with a trailer may take a back up or two. If you feel it is a bit tight of a turn for ya, you can continue down Owens River Rd for 1/2 mile and turn around at intersection head back to the West and pull straight in:D
Well here are a bunch of pics, and I know I am probably forgetting something but I know you guys will remind me. I'll post up the fuel info after dinner:)

We did stay the night and it was beautiful:) It was about 78 during the day and high 40's at night. Now we stayed at the Ski Resort as you see in the pics, and it was a bit cooler there as you can imagine. The camping area is about 2000' lower and much warmer:D

Sure is! It's crazy, warm and dry at camp but you go up the mountain a little ways and you're in a winter wonderland in July:eek: All these years we have been going up there, we have never seen snow at the base of the resort. They still have an 8' base and expect to still have the lifts open through the 4th:)

Less than 20 minutes:) We will be about in the middle between Mammoth Lakes and June Lake. I know for a fact that Mammoth has Free and pay dumps that are simple to get to and several campgrounds that have pay showers. I believe that the June Lake area also has full RV facilities and showers also. Or you could just jump in the river with a bar of soap:eek:

Very little! We may run into some snow on Laurel Mtn on the way to the Laurel lakes. We will have to do a recon run on Thursday or Friday to see if the trail to the lake is passible for the Saturday ride. I talked with the Ranger and was told as of Sat 6/18/11 it was closed to trucks but UTVs, quads and bikes are ok if you can make it:D We have been up there several times while there was still snow on the ground and it was beautiful! It was about 65-70 degrees on top but still snow everywhere:D Most of the riding is on the eastside of the 395 in and around the Owens River Valley (about 7500') The top of Laurel Mtn is a little over 10,000'

As I mentioned in post 181, you may want to drive past the turn off to the 2S85 on Owens River Rd for about a half mile and there will be an intersection you can turn around in and then come back to the west on Owens River Rd and be able to drive straight onto 2S85:) I think with your long wheelbase and towing a trailer it might require a back up or two. But you will know better than me once you arrive.

I'm gonna bring some wood to get the fire started, but like Steve said there is tons of wood to gather. I drove down Deadman Springs Rd yesterday and there are ton of piles of brush and limbs the Forest Service has gathered up for fire control that we can go get:)

Some pretty good info on the Mammoth riding- Eyes of the Inyo (http://www.mammothmc.com/)

I would love to attempt Wheeler Ridge if anyone is up for it. I have never ridden it so we might not make it in a UTV- Good chance we would get into some snow this year.

There are also some really good rides in the Glass Mountains- We could do a big loop from camp, down to Benton Crossing, up into the Glass Mountains and then back to camp.

If you see something you want to try and want tracks email me. I will get them.

Unless it has changed since last year- no on the wilderness permit and yes on the campfire permit.
We can get a campfire permit on our way into town or from any ranger.

Thanx for the info.

After doing some reading, do we need to have a wilderness pass of whatever it's called???

Also what about campfire permits???

Good question Tim:D The answer is NO and Yes, no need for the Wilderness pass but we do need to have a campfire permit. I have a campfire permit so we're good in that area. If we plan on having a fire in more than one location, we will need more permits. Good thing is they are free at the Ranger Station or you can go on the National Forest web-site, print one out an sign it:) Here is the link, just answer the 4 questions and you're good to go. The page says Sequoia 2010 permit but when you complete the test and print it will say 2011:) Campfire Permit Page - Sequoia National Forest and Giant Sequoia National Monument (http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sequoia/passespermits/campfire_permit/campfire-index.html)

Asphalt??? Since I have an AZ license plate I figured I would just say something like this:

Officer, my family and I left Phoenix two days ago. We are on our way to Sea World. Can you tell me how to find a trail over these mountains?

Think it will work?

You crack my azz up Chris:D If you say your name is Clark Grizwald and you're on your way to Wally World, that might work:eek:

The website states a responsible person has to be in charge of your fire. How do YOU get away with that??? http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/style_emoticons/default/js.png

Was looking at the weather in Mammoth this morning and there is a Flood Watch & Warning through Sunday- The warm weather is causing all that snow to melt faster than they want.

Should make for some interesting rides! :D

OK, my wife is a real piece of work. She is currently on "work-release" and has a court order, she cant be within 100 feet of a domestic animal. She drinks a lot, and gets down right awnry, so don't mention anything about her Bon Jovi tattoo on her neck. She can be a sweet heart at times, but only after she has beat me down with a wood spoon, generally in the evening. It's a good release for her. Other than this stuff, just be yourself, and everything will probably go OK. ;)

A Husband brings home a skunk one day from work.
His Wife asked what it was for???
Husband says "it's a pet".
Wife asked where it was going to stay???
Husband says in the house.
"But what about the smell???" the Wife exclaims!!!
The Husband responds "Well let him get use to it like I did!!!"
