You guys should add Sand Mountain in Nevada to your spot check! Its a cool place only an hour and a half past Reno, we go there about 4x a year.

Used to go to Sand Mountain at least 6 - 8 times a year, but I haven't been there since last Spring break. It just isn't the same anymore with all the trails closed.

DONE!!!!! Sand Mountain has been added to the Spot Check......Info curtesy of www.DuneGuide.com
I know what you mean Jon. Winnemucca is sounding like a better option for me then the mountain.

Cool, thanks Joey alot of us up north go there, only 5.5 hrs from me, same as Oregon Dunes, easier for a quick trip than the long trek to Glamis.

Hwy 50 about 20 miles east of Fallon, NV. If you make it to Tahoe to ride, you will need to give me a call.

Only riding in Tahoe that I know of would be the Rubicon down into Rubicon Springs and maybe to Buck Island and Spider Lake if you want to really stretch it out. I've done the whole Rubicon in 6 hours from Loon lake to the staging area up at the end, but that was with my Toyota and during the week.

We did the Rubicon (http://www.utvguide.net/trip_report_utv_rubicon_run_2007.htm) and Barret Lake (http://www.utvguide.net/trip_report_barrett_lake_2007.htm) during the summer of 2007.
Not too sure about rides up in Tahoe other than on 4x4 trail that goes to the top of some hill with a great view of the lake.
