Sean Reddish of WORCS Racing announced his endorsement of the ISA and made clear their intention to go 100% ISA Production Class rules for the 2013 season. Sean made his announcement following the UTV race at Adelanto in front of a crowd of UTV racers and their teams. Reception was positive with only a few concerns being raised.

More info to come........

The ISA rules really apply to WORCs style of racing along with other similiar races such as LEGP, Soboba, etc. I commend the ISA for coming up with a safer rules package and for WORCs for adopting them. Will WORCs still run three classes or will they add the others that ISA has in the rule book?

Worcs will be adding a fourth class next year. They will be adapting the stock/beginner class as well

Changes:

WORCS has offered up a set of safety and suplemental rules for the 2012 season that will apply at the start of next season. Rules for the most part incorporate all of the ISA safety rules.

WORCS will move to ISA class designations in 2012

Class 1 is now Production 1000
Class 2 is now Production 850
Class 3 is not Production 700

WORCS will institute a Beginner/Stock class that anyone can race 3 times before being bumped up into a specific Production Class.

There will be no adoption of the Unlimited Classes which unfortunately means no SR1 or motor swapped UTV's.

WORCS will go to a full ISA rules package in 2013. Adopting above Production classes and Beginner/Stock class.

Any car that has ran the full 2011 season at WORCS and does not fall inline with the above classes will be grandfathered for the 2012 season. BY 2013 ALL cars must fit the rules laid out by the ISA.

I think the introduction of the new plan for WORCS went over really well. Only a couple of concerns were raised, sounded like the same concerns that were raised here with the rule book being too long and floorboards rule. WORCS and ISA will be working hard to do what we can to please all racers, just as we have been trying to explain here online for a couple of weeks now. The cool part for me was all the welcome reception from racers during and after the rules/driver meeting. Majority of the racers I spoke too were in favor of the new rules.

Wow...thanks for the quick updates Joey!

Guess I don't have to worry about racing in WORCS at all next season...oh well. Those tracks aren't really geared for the high HP machines anyway, so it makes sense.

worcs announced a one page set of very resonable rules for 2012 and for 2013 they anounced they will be isa compliant and another meeting will take place towards the end of next year discussing what changes will be made for 2013 for worcs. this will give the isa the next year to make whatever changes to thier rule book to make it more affordable yet safe for the racer.maybe the 71 page rule book will be cut in half now to 30 or 35 pages?

The rule book is only 71 pages if you d-load the ENTIRE book including the 2 Unlimited classes that WORCS is not adopting. In your case where you are building a Production 1000 car (Polaris XP900) your class rule book is only 8 pages long!! Download the general rules and it still less than 15 pages. download the Production 1000 book here: http://isxsa.com/Forms/ISA%20Production%201000%20class%20rules.pdf

The 1 page paper Sean compiled is in ADDITION to his existing WORCS rules. That 1 page rule sheet is essentially a breakdown of the differences in the ISA book and what WORCS already has. This was put in place to ease the transition of going to the ISA book. We will be working closely with WORCS and the racers to answer any questions and help anyone understand any of the rules changes as they take place in 2013.

We know the book is very intimidating to those not used to looking at rule books (ME INCLUDED) but when you break it down as many at WORCS and other orgs have done now, it is really pretty cut and dry.

I don't want to turn this thread into the last one in terms of questions in the book, if you have questions please address that thread or email the ISA through Home :: International Side X Side Association (http://www.ISXSA.com)

In addition to the rules, as Sean mentioned, the ISA will be working on a contingency program to offer those racing as ISA members. We want to offer a lot of incentive to those who choose to join.

Corry, you should know that the ISA had no part in the decision to not adopt any unlimited classes. Sean has a vision for WORCS and it being a production based race series much like he has done with ATV and MX. The ball was in his court to adopt any unlimited classes.

However I agree, the SR1's on the same track as the production classes would not have been a good combination.

You seem suprised...lol

Perhaps Weller Racing and R3motorsports could team up to build a "Production" 1000? ;)

I think Sean has the right vision...

Joey, I was also at the meeting and asked a question just to make sure it was clear. All of the current race cars in WORCS will be grandfathered for 2013, the first year of ISA. This doesn't apply to 2012. The safety rules WORCS came up applies to all cars for 2012. The grandfather rule does not let anyone be less safe then everyone else, it just gives people with custom cars another year to race before fixing their cars or changing cars.

Next years rule changes announced by Sean are all very reasonable and much needed. Very fair. Sean and WORCS has been great to us SideXSide racers giving us a fun affordable place to play, Not to mention the most well run organized race series I have ever been apart of.
The added intrest in Class one just from new guys on this forum is awesome, Class one will be insane next year!!

Is WORCS going to require firesuits and auto helmets this year?

Fire suit yes and any approved helmet. Dirt bike helmets work
