Yes it's true... Our Bilstein package is set up to run and maintain the 14" of stock travel from the factory with the addition of our external shock body extensions. Unlike the stock shocks which are only 7", the Bilsteins are a true 8" travel shock which allows for more travel.

You will have to do a few things to make the additional travel happen.... First, you will need to jump up in tire size from the stock 26". Second, you will need to remove our external extension to achieve full compression of the shock. Lastly, you will need to change the springs out to accommodate the new found travel and not have the springs go into coil bind. This will give you a full 2" of additional travel, which is a huge increase.

We now offer the Bilsteins in two styles. We have the non reservoir style that has proven to work very well and hold up to punishment and are great for the hard core enthusiast. We actually have a few racers racing with them and like the performance. We have now added a Schrader valve that allows you to fine tune the shock by varying the nitrogen level. This also makes the shock easy to upgrade to remote reservoirs, if and when the time comes.

We are now offering a remote reservoir style ready to go, so if reservoirs are what you want we have them for you.

No hype here, just simply a shock built by the company that revolutionized the sport of off road racing. Bilstein has won more championships than any other shock company and are the OEM supplier to every major automotive manufacturer in Europe. Here in the US if you buy a truck with an off road package chances are it will include Bilsteins.

We have them in stock and ready to go!!!!!!

Guess I should have said fine tune. We set them up for your typical 2 seater with cage, door, bumpers etc. Set for pretty aggressive driving so you can attack whoops and terrain at speed. you can mellow the valving by reducing pressure some giving a plusher ride. Schrader is also nice so if and when you can upgrade to the remote resi's.

I mean no disrespect but nitrogen pressure shouldn't really be used to "tune or fine tune" a shock. Especially in an emulsion shock where the nitrogen and oil are mixed together. There is no direct effect on the valving by changing nitrogen pressure.

None taken. On an emulsion shock I would tend to agree, but that's not the way a Bilstein works. The monotube technology of the Bilstein maintains separation of the oil and gas by way of a dividing piston. This eliminates airiating/frothing of the oil which is the major contributor to inconsistent performance.

Oh so it's a IFP shock
That would be a term used by others. The fact is that Bilstein developed and perfected the technology before most other shock companies where in business. Beyond that their deflective disc technology is truly unique and has never remotely been matched or mimicked by any other. As for overall performance and durability Bilstein has proven itself time and time again and has been the go to shock for off road racers for years. We know we are bucking the trend in the industry, but if you get a chance to experience a Bilstein you will know why.
