Hey all, my name is Scott and I am new to any kind of forum and I thought any questions I may have could be answered here by other UTV owners. Anyhow, I am in between machines right now as I sold my Rhino last April in preparation for my future toy. I am waiting to pay off my truck to get another side by side and I had already made my mind up on a RZR 900 4 seater but Polaris had to throw a monkey wrench into my plans and come out with a 1000 4 seater. I was in a mental battle with myself going back and forth between the two as I have studied all the dimensions and have seen first hand how well the 4 seat 900 performs when it comes to climbing (Moab Rules). My quandary is that the 1000 4 seater's wheelbase is 10" longer than the 900's wheelbase and I'm wondering if it will hurt or help in climbing and maneuverability in tight situations. I think I need some advice from others if you have any to give, but of course, I am a guy and I'm leaning toward the 1000 cuz it's a beast. Thank for any input.

Wish I could make Camp RZR but unable, but if you're going to Rally On The Rocks in Moab in May, I will see you there. And yes, I am definitely shooting for the 1000. I hope to see some kick "A" video on here as soon as a few really lucky guys get 'em so I can see how they perform on the rocks. Can't wait!

I would guess that the extra travel on the 1000 will keep it on par with the 900 in crawling situations. And everything else about it is better! Get the 1000

Thanks for the advice. The more I talk to people the more they say I will be sorry if I go with the 900. Not that the 900 is a slouch, but I would probably regret not getting the 1000.

Go with the XP1k if you can afford it. You'd always wish you had more with the 900.... but if it is the 900 or nothing, do what you can to get in the dirt.
