We are proud to congratulate UTVUnderground Team Rider RJ Anderson in his Walker Evans Polaris RZR for finishing 1st both days in the Unlimited UTV Class! RJ raced solid all weekend and has got his team off to a solid start in the 2010 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series!

What happened to Bobby V and Dan K.......suppose to have new bad ass Muzzy built engines......were they just not dialed in yet or did they have problems.....anyone one know?

besides a few races at speedworld and one demo this is the first big race for the SR1's and drivers are still learning how to power the car. Speaking with track and officials and other photogs on the track was a big eye opener for me. regardless fo lap times to the guys who are not huge UTV guys the SR1's are awesome. To them the shear sound and power makes them to believe they are super exciting and its hard to argue when you watch Tyler, Gary, or Doug Mittag drift through the corners. Give the class a season before trying to change it too much and wait for a guy like Kyle LeDuc whos Weller SR1 will be done for Round 2. Once you get a really experienced shoe in a SR1 I think we will all see what the cars are capable of.

I heard Bronco Dan was a beast in his SR1. I think they are awesome. Weller is open for ideas but at this point with what they have invested in developing this class they deserve a season of racing before making big rules changes....Anyway, lets take this topic to another thread.....Lucas Oil was AWESOME on Saturday and Sunday will be as good if not better I am anticipating....

Great pics...........Glad to see there is a UTV forum that covers/discusses and is involved in racing.

Did Weller build Kimbrell's motor????

Hopefully dan gets his teryxx running, but if not we will see an SR1 driven like a pro 2 today. Nothing needs to be changed but the driving styles. They will learn. Changing motor location and steering geometry and not having spec rules for tires and such would make the class too expensive. I don't think the point was ever to out run the pro utv class, but to give newlife to the dying race rhinos which it has done. He'll, tyler herzog is a freaking animal qualifying way up in the middle of the pro field and 3 of the top 5 were sr1.

Doug borrowed Bobbys SR1 car for this. He had not driven an R1 car before this weekend and he was right in the mix. The platform is there for a real fast race car.

Back to the track in a couple hours for more action.

I'm pretty sure Bobby will be racing today. Hopefully Tyler windbury too. He got tangled up in the start wreck and busted a steering part. Austin and rj were battling until Austin had a mechanical issue making him lose power. Congrats to rj on the win and Austin for 2nd. Big props to Tyler parks for third too!

Oh man....I would love to see Dan drive his SR1 today.....and you are right if he does we will see the true potential of the SR1......he was crazy fast at Speedworld.

I understand the concept of this class (bring new life to old race Rhino's and keep costs down) but I also understood that this was to be the dominate and premier UTV class.
I would also bet this is what Lucas expects from the SR1.

Double the HP should equal better performance in every class.

I heard a little negative feedback from friends that are in LV and were not impressed with the SR1's......they (like I suspect most average spectators) expected the SR1's with 2x the hp to lead and win the race.

I hope they do well today:D

Talked to dan. He will be in the sr1 today. Practice and qualifying is canceled. Track is full of water. Starting order will be finish order from yesterday. A slimy track won't be hood for the sr1 crowd.

I don't think anyone expected the sr1 class up be the premier class. With factory support from Kawasaki and bigger sponsorship money this year the pro class is and always will dominate. The only reason the sr1 class is here is the awsome marketing and sponsorship that Weller got from tilted kilt.
