TORC OFF-ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP

FEATURES HISTORIC PRO LIGHT SERIES PURSE IN 2010

Indianapolis, IN (May 12, 2010)--The United States Auto Club (USAC Racing), in conjunction with its corporate sponsors in the TRAXXAS Off-Road Championship, announce plans for an unprecedented PRO Light Series season purse.

Traxxas, The Fastest Name in Radio Control® has joined forces with TORC to raise the PRO Light series purse to historic levels. Racers will be competing for the largest cash purse the PRO Light class has ever experienced. Top spot on the podium for each race pays $5,000, $2,500 for 2nd, $1,500 for 3rd, and continues to pay on down to the 10th spot. There's also an additional $1,000 Traxxas Maxx® Lap cash payout to the driver of the fastest lap in each round. That makes each race weekend worth nearly $30,000 in cash rewards for the PRO Light class alone.

With six exciting racing venues, winning drivers in this class can enjoy the biggest purse structure ever offered by the series. Additionally, the TORC Series announced a 50% reduction for the PRO Light class entry fees to just $500 per race weekend! "Not only will drivers enjoy generous purse opportunities, they will also be able to compete for additional payouts all season long," said Kevin Miller, President of USAC.

Also new for 2010 is the PRO Light limited and sealed V8 crate engine program announced in December that provides a low cost engine choice that can race equally alongside the current 4-cylinder power plants. The TORC Series makes its season debut in Antigo, WI June 5-6 for the Sportsman Divisions, and the Pro Series kicks off at the "Big House" in Crandon, WI on June 19-20.

Series sponsors include TRAXXAS, AMSOIL, Monster Energy, Kumho Tires, KMC Wheels, Oakley, Ford Trucks, and BF Goodrich Tires. Additional series sponsors and major announcements are expected as the season progresses.

USAC is the most diverse motorsorts organization in the country today, sanctioning Silver Crown, Sprint Cars, Midget Racing, .25 Quarter Midgets, Bonneville Salt Flat Land Speed records, Off Road racing, as well as partnerships with the Pikes Peaks International Hill Climb and the Fireball Run Adventure Rally.

USAC ANNOUNCES CONTINUED

TORC PURSE INCREASES

Indianapolis, IN. The United States Auto Club (USAC Racing), in conjunction with its corporate sponsors in the TRAXXAS Off Road Championship, today announced purse increases for the PRO-4x4 and PRO-2WD Divisions for the 2010 season.

Both PRO 4x4 and PRO 2WD competitors will be rewarded with weekend purses of $18,000 for the combined two-day race weekends. For PRO-4x4, that’s a 64% increase versus 2009 class purses, and for PRO-2WD we have increased purses by 100%†stated Kevin Miller, CEO of USAC Racing.

Additionally, the TORC Series announced a significant reduction for the PRO-4x4 and PRO-2WD class entry fees to just $750 per race weekend!

New for 2010, the Series will feature a new race format for line-ups. Races will no longer be lined up by points as done last year. The initial round of a 2-day event weekend will be aligned by qualifying times established each weekend. Round 2 will feature the first 6 finishers locked in, then inverted, for the feature event. The rest of the field will be established by the fastest lap during race action in Round 1.

The TORC Series makes its season debut in Antigo, WI June 5-6 for the Sportsman Divisions, and the Pro Series kicks off at the “Big House†in Crandon, WI on June 19-20.

Series sponsors include TRAXXAS, AMSOIL, Monster Energy, Kumho Tires, KMC Wheels, Oakley, Ford Trucks, and BF Goodrich Tires. Additional series sponsors and major announcements are expected as the season progresses.

USAC is the most diverse motorsorts organization in the country today, sanctioning Silver Crown, Sprint Cars, Midget Racing, .25 Quarter Midgets, Bonneville Salt Flat Land Speed records, Off Road racing, as well as partnerships with the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and the Fireball Run Adventure Rally.

I hope you guys going to move to Wisconson for the summer? Based on Lake Elsinore as home and driving to each race I came up with the following;

Appx. time spent driving, 19 days-14 hours
Appx. miles, 29394
Appx fuel used @ 10 mpg, 2939 gallons
Diesel fuel $ @ current national average-3.1416, $9233.16

And I was complaining about driving to Salt Lake..., you guys are rock stars.

Please keep us up on your adventure.

yeah its gonna be a hell of alot of driving. but he has a day gig, im self employed but i still have to get stuff done. unless it gets rolled our prep is so simple because of the motor package so well see how many times we haul the trailer. we should be based out of north lake, wi. between milwaukee and madison ( friends ). sealed crate v8s and unlimited 4 cylinders for 2 years at least. its gonna be worth it. he was on the box at his first torc race so we will be in the mix ( starting from the rear, no points and being told not to be too aggressive, we are still so gratefull for the opportunity to be the first to test the engine package at the highest level ). plus the truck is carburated correctly now, so more power.
