Believe it or not, everyone doesnt want a small cramped UTV with crappy seats, a harsh suspension and a steering wheel straight from a lawn tractor! ![]() I think Can Am is doing pretty good considering its only the third year. How long has Polaris made the RZR? Arctic Cat made a SXS? Deere? Yamaha? Look at the Honda after about the same amount of development time.

WOW !!! I ask a question and you through this BS at me. I don't care who broke what ! Did CAN-AM fix the weak steering that was the question. One guy broke the same tie rod twice on his canned ham. I don't give two shits what you think about my TERYX or any other side x side for that matter. It was a question ???? Maybe I like the new CAN-AM. They sure look nice. What I want to know is if they did any thing to FIX the steering problem. Every manufacturer has problems and weak points and the Kawasaki is by far no exception. I bought the very first Teryx our dealer got in 08 and now with more than 200 hours 32" super swamper tires that have been on it for three years a stock motor and exhaust the thing has been to Moab twice and on every trail the pacific northwest can throw at it. Yea its HOT and cramped but I have never broke a belt, I have never broke the steering or an A arm and I still have my stock Axles in it.So JoeyD do you know if they changed the steering rack and or tie rods on the new CAN-AM ? |

. That meant I was joking and after all, this is just a hobby and we should all be having fun, Kymco or Can Am. I also didnt even bring up the Kawi, so you shouldnt feel bad. They are after all, pretty stout machines. My point was that everything breaks. Moab is hard on machines and if you hit a rock wrong, snap! I have no idea if they fixed anything on that machine as they are not in showrooms yet, but I can say that I have been around a big enough sampling of UTV's to make a pretty educated guess that after the 2011 model, the Can Am doesnt have a steering rod issue. Steering rack issue, who knows, I guess if you hit something hard enough, it will break. If you read other forums that are aimed at a certain UTV, you will see people calling for a major recall on every model made as they think what they broke shouldnt have and its a design issue. Anyway, sorry to offend you and Im not the one to answer the tech quesion of things being changed. UTV's have turned into a Ford vs. Chevy type of thing and I get tired of seeing people downing the Can Am which I think is a pretty nice machine for all purposes. Great at Glamis and will climb just about everything as good as any UTV out there. Great running through all but the trophy truck sized whoops in the desert and great for an adventure trail ride as they are more comfortable than anything out there. And with a little mod here and there, they have been winning some pretty big races too with little to no factory help for the teams doing the winning. I think that when they come with new units and get serious about racing, you will see some people in the Southwest change there minds about the C/A. Then again, everyone doesnt drive a BMW and Ford out sells them by leaps and bounds

IT IS DEFINITLY A FORD & CHEVY THING. I HAVE ONLY SAT IN A CAN AM @ THE DEALER & I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN ONE OR BEEN A PASSENGER. IMO IT IS THE MOST COMFORTABLE STOCK UTV I HAVE EVER SET IN. I LIKE HAVING ROOM BETWEEN MYSELF & THE PASSENGER.
