Default King Of the Hammers open invitation

Here is the deal, for those who have been to the KOH race you already know what I'm going to be talking about and those who are even remotely interested need to listen up.

I would like to invite the entire UTV population out to the KOH race site sometime in the next few weeks. The reason for this is to get all of you who are sitting on the fence interested in this outstanding event. This way you can casually check out the terrain have some fun with some friends and then decide whether racing or spectating will be your thing. Either way come February you need to be at this event!

I will gladly show anyone interested the courses from the first year and this years event. You don't even need to worry about vehicle damage since there are ways around almost every tough section. This means even the Fatrod could come along.

I have several open weekends between now and Thanksgiving so I am tossing out the idea to invite all you out to check it out soon. I'm thinking about going either Halloween weekend or the weekend after depending on your interest. I can even make multiple trips if needed.

If you really are against taking your trailer queen out to this area I will even offer my co dog seat up for some rides.

Lets hear it, anyone want to go check it out?

Chime in here pr send me a PM

First weekend of Nov will be the LOORS race in Las Vegas. Although not everyone here attends those races, quite a few of us will. I am sure quite a number of people would be interested in this ride...

That sounds really cool. I would love to do something like that. Maybe Joey can bring out all his demo vehicles and we could all go. Is the 2011 course marked out?

Hey Reid, Jeff Knoll is trying to get a weekend set up at the Hammers for UTVs. He wants to see how they do on other obstacles and terrain. He is wanting to make the course a bit more challenging this year and wants to see the true capabilities of SXSs.

It would be ideal for those that are thinking of competing in the KOH Race. You might get in touch with him and combine efforts.

Your idea is a good one, wished I could get away in the next month or two, but work is keeping me too busy and right now, with this economy, I'll take that work anyday.

To try and answer the questions and comments above.

Russ- I am aware of the race schedule and this includes the Elsinore GP and other big events which means on any given weekend there is something else to do. We just need to pick one and run with it.

Rusty - The 2011 course has not been decided yet but they do have ideas. I just figured if we can show everyone a cross section of what is out there from the last two events we could get more people invovled.

Darryl - I have already made contact with Jeff and that is one of the reasons why I'm taking this on. To help with the overal health of the event and build on the past two years.

I offered the next two weekends (10/30-31, 11/6-7) because those are the two that I have available with no work commitments. With no Soboba now we can potentially do it that weekend (11/ 13-14) also. Again, I am completely open on doing this multiple times to get the most people out there. Also, I have nothing to gain from this personally. I just think it is an awesome event and i want to see it and the UTV class get bigger. I'm just trying to help the sport.

With Soboba being postponed that opened up that weekend but I didn't want to jump back on the bandwagon since I already jumped off once. I actually drove around the Little Rubicon area this past Sunday in my Jeep just so i could do a dry run of your camp site and the trail head. Lots to see out there but gotta stay on existing trails.

If I can get some interest for that weekend I will let you know. i don't mind watching some buggy carnage Ha Ha. (not a hater)

Through several phone and text conversations I have decided that the weekend of the previously scheduled and postponed Soboba GP would be best, November 13-14. I know this steps on the Papa Bear's trip to the Little Rubicon but it sounds like they are already well informed of the KOH event (sorry Papa Bear).

Make or change plans now!

Sounds like a great chance to break in my new cage !

I am in the need to get out there at least once before Thanksgiving so this might just be the ticket. Where abouts will you stage for this TG ?
