" Would a rose by any other name not be as sweet?" Shakespeare.
I take no offense in SXS Machine questions, and I also appreciate the defense of our work. Whats in a Name? 5 years ago 13 guys showed up in the desert to drive on some rocks. Today 16,000 people from all over the world travel to watch the King of the Hammers. The race has been featured in so many magazines around the world I stopped counting. The vast majority I can't even read. Whats the point? We had no idea when we set out to build the KOH race that it would be a world wide event. I am not willing to assume that the ISA can not also be just as big if I follow the same basic principles in management. While we are not truly "International" at this time I can only relate to the morning on Means dry lake bed when 13 racers took a leap of faith, and what that became. While we are laying a foundation in the Western United States, the model will set the stage for world wide growth. What it will take is the commitment of dedicated SXS enthusiasts like SXS Machine to pick up the ball and start chapters in countries outside the US. The ISA Bylaws are such that it is very possible the entire BOD could be changed in only a couple years. This Non Profit Corporation has been set up to out live its founding members. As with any young organization finding the right people takes time, and even though I feel lucky to draw upon the talent that set the foundation, I look forward to the talent still unknown to us, and what they will add to the ISA. Our long term goals obviously are going to be different than our short term, but personally I hope to capitalize on relationships I have built in Baja California Mexico, Canada, France, Germany, iceland, and even Australia. A good Friend of mine named Ben Napier recently moved to the US from Australia to race the Ultra4 series. He and I have spent many hours sitting around a computer exploring the different opportunities that may or may not exists in Australia. While I have no affection for your Bundy Rum, I do hope to some day attend some of the events held down under and see what can be done to promote SXS sports world wide. Rome was not built in a day after all. Thanks for your passionate commitment to SXS Sports, and I hope we can refocus that energy in a unified position. Feel free to contact me directly via email if there are any things I can help with. jeff@carreraperformancegroup.com BTW I am in the early stages of planning a Baja SXS trip, so we are pretty close to being international. Canada will be next.

Thanks Jeff for your contribution on my comments thus far and thanks for recognizing it is not a personal attack on anyone.
We do have a period of significant growth this coming years even if its just a racing scene, as I said we do not have the opportunity yet for a racing scene. Something I havent discussed before is Ive actually become a running candidate and sub-committee member of a New Political Party to try and help get us some of these "laws" over-turned or created in the first place. This affect 2 of the three businesses I run to which I dedicate 16hrs a day 7 days a week atm. Even my work with the political party is suffering atm, but thats at the hands of still doing work like establishing Australia's first formal SXS club. That and trying anything to make a buck for the family. That aside I have some very definate idea's of my own not so much in terms of racing (except for a winning formula on driver development) or rule books etc but actually on feedback to manufacturers on comparable designs to create classes of buggies for recreation that can also be raced. But that feedback is the same as everyone else's so I need not state the obvious or be present to do so. Apart from that Jeff I'd like to hear what you do as we are having trouble getting together something to compete class wise against the Polaris yet because we don't have modification rules yet so the Wild Cat is what we need and the company I have been dealing with there has been doing only enough to hang on by their finger nails so I went by your web address for a look but nothing there yet so do drop me a mail with what your business does that I may get something from you in that regard if and where possible. Thanks Gavin |

Not exactly sure what your asking Gavin, but I will try and answer. The ISA does not currently have influencing manufactures development in its scope of work. Finding something to compete against the Polaris is not limited to Australia, if you ask drivers of the other models being raced in the US you would be better suited for an answer on how to make that happen as its not my area of expertise. We have yet to see the Arctic Cat in the hands of consumers here yet, but I assume that will come soon.
If you have specific question regarding Carrera Performance Group I suggest we switch this to private Email, as That company is separate from the ISA. |

We did a Baja ride in 2008 and it was so much fun. I know Randy from ORW would love to do another one. Below is a recap in from our trip.
