Casey Currie’s tune-up for the 2020 Dakar Rally took a turn for the better on Monday as he won a stage of this year’s Rallye Du Maroc for the second time. Currie and navigator Sean Berriman won the SSV class by 29 minutes, enabling them to take a lead of nearly an hour heading into the final day of competition.

“Day 4 in the books and it went really well!” Currie said. “The mistakes Sean and I made yesterday, we went back did some homework last night, did some fine tuning and did not have any mistakes. Super stoked on that and it looks like we got the stage win today and now lead the rally in our category. One more day back up to Fes to lock this in!”

The fifth and final day of Rallye Du Maroc will see teams head north in the final stage of the event. Currie and Berriman will look to hang onto a lead of 58:21 over Jose Antonio Hinojo Lopez and Diego Ortega Gil.
