Casey Currie and Sean Berriman clinched the overall victory in the Open SSV class in this year’s Rallye Du Maroc with a third place finish on Tuesday’s final stage. With two stage wins and podiums in two others, Currie and Berriman earned the victory by 40 minutes in their biggest tune-up to date for the 2020 Dakar Rally.

“We won the Rallye Du Maroc overall in the Open SSV category!” said Currie. “The same category we will be racing 2020 Dakar in. Lots came out of this rally. Really excited on all the big changes we made to the car. Now to go home to fine tune the car and to train as much as we can before Dakar. Sean killed it in the right seat. Monster Energy Can-Am gave us a perfect Maverick and Can-Am Offroad has helped so much with fine tuning.”

The Rallye Du Maroc win is the latest achievement in a big year for Currie. He was the top rookie in the UTV class of this year’s Dakar Rally with a fourth place class finish, and later took the Ultra 4 victory at the 50th anniversary edition of the World Championship Off-Road Races at Crandon International Raceway.
