Las Vegas Golden Nugget named official headquarters for the 2014 Mint 400
Driver Registration and Drivers Meeting to be held inside "The Grand Event Center" at the Golden Nugget​

LAS VEGAS – For the sixth consecutive year, the world-renowned General Tire Mint 400 presented by Polaris has selected the Golden Nugget Las Vegas as the “Official Host Hotel†for Best in the Desert's General Tire Mint 400. The top off-road teams in the world will compete in over twenty different classes of race vehicles at this years Mint 400, which will take place the week of March 12th and continue until March 16th, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Parnelli Jones Returns as Grand Marshal for the 2014 General Tire Mint 400 presented by Polaris RZR​

February 12th – 2014 Las Vegas – The Martelli Brothers announced today that American Racing Legend Parnelli Jones will be the Grand Marshal of the 2014 General Tire Mint 400 presented by Polaris. Parnelli had a long and illustrious carrier in racing and is well known for pushing race vehicles to their limits and beyond. Winner of the 1963 Indy 500, he was the first driver to qualify over 150 mph. Parnelli is one of only two men to have ever won The Indy 500 and The Mint 400.

"We are honored to have Parnelli Jones as the Grand Marshal of The 2014 Mint 400. He has been a hero of ours since we were kids, and is the embodiment of what it means to be a champion. Parnelli played a critical role in the history of the Mint. He was the first nationally recognized high profile racer to come and compete at our race. It was his name that helped catapult the Mint into a national spotlight,†said Matt Martelli, Mint 400 CEO.

All New Method Race Wheels Time Trials at The 2014 Mint 400​

For the second consecutive year, Method Race Wheels has put up $5,000 in cold hard cash and a stunning custom made trophy to the fastest overall qualifier for the 2014 General Tire Mint 400 presented by Polaris RZR. The best off-road racers in the world will come and battle it out for a top start position in The Great American Off-Road Race. The location of the time trials will not be released until the day of qualifying to provide an equal playing field to all racers.

Registration for The Method Race Wheels Time Trials will be inside the Gold Strike Resort & Casino Banquet Room in Jean from 8:30am-11:00am on Thursday, March 13th.

The Method Race Wheels Time Trials will take place on Thursday, March 13th at an undisclosed location just outside of Las Vegas. The results will be announced Thursday, March 13th on 6th and Fremont at 5:30PM. In addition to $5,000 cash, the top qualifier will also receive the Method Race Wheels Fastest Qualifier Trophy at the Mint 400 drivers meeting Friday, March 14th at The Grand inside The Golden Nugget.

For the second consecutive year, the world's toughest off-road race vehicles will parade down world famous Las Vegas Blvd during the 4 Wheel Parts Mint 400 Vehicle Parade. This year, the parade will double in car count and will kick off the 2014 General Tire Mint 400 presented by Polaris RZR. The massive group of off-road racecars will be led by 1973 Mint 400 Champion and famed American racer, Parnelli Jones.

Over ten million dollars worth of custom fabricated off-road racecars will be on display, and thunder down the Strip, in tribute to the famed Mint 400 vehicle processions that took place on Fremont Street decades ago. The vehicles are part of a massive field of over 300+ entries that will compete Saturday, March 15th just outside of Las Vegas at The Great American Off-Road Race.

Top Pit Crews To Battle Head to Head in The KMC Wheels Pit Crew Challenge
presented by Currie Enterprises​

In off-road racing, one pit stop can be the deciding factor of the outcome of an entire race. The Mint 400 is proud to announce the return of the KMC Wheels Pit Crew Challenge, this year adding presenting sponsor Currie Enterprises. Come watch the top teams in off-road racing battle head to head to determine who has the fastest pit crew in off-road! Each three-man team will compete against the clock and each other, to see who can change two tires the fastest.

The KMC Wheels Pit Crew Challenge presented by Currie Enterprises is a celebration of the dedicated pit crews that spend countless hours prepping, maintaining, and fixing off-road race vehicles. Eight Class 1/1500 teams and eight trophy truck/Trick Truck teams will battle in a single elimination format to win thousands of dollars in prizes and determine who has the fastest pit crew.

Prizes include a set of KMC Wheels, an Impact Over the Wall X-Lite helmet and a Racer Two Piece suit, a prize package from Ironclad and a set of FOX OEM shocks for each winning competitor.

The battles in the pit kick off at 6:30pm and continue in to the night with the KMC Wheels Pit Crew Party at 9:00pm, featuring international recording artist, Bob Wayne.
