great report! thanks for sharing, curious to hear what what was wrong with your charging system, wired quite a few race UTVs and everything from TTs to class 11s and everything in between, never had a charging issue with any of the UTVs so just curious what you found,

Who Here Has Actually Run the Baja 1000 in a UTV?

Starting with some smaller races first is the best advise, the MORE series, is your best bet to get your feet wet. For decades the MORE series has been a place where so many of the biggest names in the sport have learned there craft. There is a reason why all the top trophy truck teams test and...

Didn't mean to imply that >t wpuld ever be an easy season for anyone, just looking at the times, these guys I believe are MORE racers and won't even be running in BITD the whole season, just a couple of races

UTV WINTER NATIONALS Parker “250” Presented By Polaris

yea the car count was just an estimate, 36 turbos, 10 unlimited and 2 N/a, started in front of the 1951, but the numbers are not really a big deal, where you start is not that important to where you finish overall, just have to do a little more work, not bad for only the second time in a UTV...

UTV WINTER NATIONALS Parker “250” Presented By Polaris

1951, won the N/A class by more than 30 min, thats kind of making a statement
  13. C

UTV WINTER NATIONALS Parker “250” Presented By Polaris

yea should be a fun season in the 1900 class, 1951 started something like 50th car off the line and finished with only 5 cars physically ahead of him, winning 1900 and getting 6th over all

UTV WINTER NATIONALS Parker “250” Presented By Polaris

Total privateer, with no factory support, built by a non factory supported shop won the Parker 250 in the 1900 class. Does anyone know when the last time a privateer won a BITD race in class 1900?

Is this legal for the Pro Production class?

"long time" is a relative term, but that is a different discussion, it apprears that is what is going on here, the arm pivots appear to be using the forward mounting brackets as the now aft bracket, either moving the whole pivot locations forward or widening the pivot locations, and it appears...

Is this legal for the Pro Production class?

Taking full advantage of the rules as written is what racing is all about, totally agree, what about the lower mount in relation to the front diff, was it also moved forward on the race car
  19. C

Is this legal for the Pro Production class?

Could be camera angle, but it does appear that the lower forward pivot point in the stock location is aft of the forward edge of the front diff, in the photos of the race car it appears that the same pivot point is forward of the forward edge of the diff, once again if this is the case then it...

Is this legal for the Pro Production class?

Seems cut and dry, and a quick measurement at tech will solve the problem and decide what class the car runs in.
  21. C

Is this legal for the Pro Production class?

does it mean that you can use either of the pivot point tabs, there by moving the pivoy point forward by only using the stock fowrad tab location or aft by using the rear tab location?
  22. C

Is this legal for the Pro Production class?

Not sure what that even means
  23. C

Is this legal for the Pro Production class?

The rules seem pretty clear, "in the stock location and position as delivered from the manufacturer" "No suspension mounts may be moved" Period. but the people that control the sport can allow some to bend the rules and force others to follow. Just the way it is.
  24. C

Is this legal for the Pro Production class?

Clearly an unlimited car by the rule book, but we will see what the powers decide

    SpeedCat77 Baja Facts

You are correct for the car industry and the racing org. that sanction production based car racing, but this is UTV racing and it is up to the sanction body to decide what they consider is a "production car" What about a compnay that has a manufacturing license and is licensed to issue vin...

    SpeedCat77 Baja Facts

Nothing i guess is impossible, if you had an unlimited amount of time to finish, but that is the big dilemma "in the alloted time" To finish the Baja 1000 in stock car would take so long that you would time out pretty early in the race. Desert race courses are so rough that a stock car just cant...

    SpeedCat77 Baja Facts

Seems to me from reading the other thread, that the new Speedcat can be purchased by anyone thru the Artic Cat dealer network and is basically just another model of Artic Cat, therefore it would meet all of the requirements of running in the production class. Just because it is built in limited...

    Polaris Turbo fix for racers

All this talk of horsepower is cool and all, but I dont think anyone has answered his original question, clearly Polaris has an issue with cars catching on fire and has a stop ride on the turbos. It seems like he would like an answer to why the recreational cars are unsafe to drive and the race...

Official UTVUnderground 2016 BITD Vegas To Reno Update Thread

Comgrats to all of the finishers and winners, having raced this race for decades it has always been more of a dirt road race then a true desert race course and the times and speed reflect that. There are definitely some nasty sections but as a whole it's always been a pretty high speed course...

When there is a vehicle fire the goal is to put it out before it engulfs the whole vehicle, automatic fire suppresion systems should be mandatory on all race cars, and should be also used on play cars. We put automatic fire suppresion systems on all of the race cars that we build, whether the...
