The Jim Baker Memorial Jackpot 200 will be held on July 5th at Jackpot, Nevada. Registration is open! We race both Sportsman and PRO UTV's along with trucks and buggies. We have another race in Wendover, UT on September 13th.

From Curtis Blackley: Jim Baker was the founder of BORE (now BOR) and passed away earlier this year, as such we've decided to name this race in honor of him. Many of the tracks we use are Jackpot are ones originally mapped out (or created in the case of Easy Street) by Jim Baker. Many of us would not be racing if not for Jim, and certainly we wouldn't be racing in the northern Nevada/Utah area. Many of the BOR racers now never knew Jim but we still owe him a lot.

We are going to try to make the race with the 4 seat wildcat. Actually prepping it to run pro class this time. Hopefully it hold together better than it did at wendover. Anyone that is close enough to come should give it a try. You can do sportsman with such minimum safety equipment that there is no real excuse to not come out an just have fun.

Now if we could do something about the race dates! I get doing it on a long weekend but the wife ain't too happy about me driving all the way there after the fireworks are over and the kids are put to bed. And there is no way she is going to let me drag her and the kids along! Glad you guys are putting on some local races anyway!

Picking race dates is always tough. We try our best to avoid competing with other racing org's, so that was our main driver for picking July 4th weekend. Not an easy choice for sure, but Jackpot has an awesome fireworks show!

To be clear, these are the same rules from last year, but I wanted to reiterate for the sake of safety and clear understanding between BOR officials and UTV racers. These will be strictly enforced at Jackpot. Lack of compliance = lack of racing. Gaither Campbell's Sportsman UTV is an excellent example of a legal Sportsman UTV.

Pro UTV
· Window Nets OR wrist restraints
· 1-1/2" x .095 mild steel or chromoly DOM
· 4 or 5 point harnesses
· 2 1/2 lb A/B/C fire extinguisher
· First Aid Kit
· Fuel Cell
· Rear lights - 2 tail, 2 brake, 1 amber, 1 blue (slower classes, but recommended for all)
· Horn - very loud, please!!!
· Numbers - 4" front, 8" side, 6" rear, black on white preferred or you will be stopped at each check
· SNELL approved helmets
· One piece driving suit, no holes
· Firewall between fuel/engine and driver compartment

Sportsman UTV
- Window nets OR wrist restraints·
- Factory seat belts
· Rear facing blue light
· Snell approved helmet
· long pants and long sleeves
· First aid kit
· Numbers as outlined above
· Working factory lights (tail and brake) and horn
· Additional safety equipment included with Pro class is HIGHLY recommended but not required

Thanks everyone, we're here to let you enjoy yourselves and go home safe!
