Dax Shepard, Jolene Van Vugt, and Jim Beaver Finish the UTV World Championship in the RZR Star Car

Parker, Arizona - With Dax Shepard joining regular RZR Star Car drivers Jim Beaver and Jolene Van Vugt at the 2018 Polaris RZR UTV World Championship, many wondered how the Hollywood A-lister would do against the best UTV racers in the world... The simple answer is phenomenal!

Last weekend's Polaris RZR UTV World Championship race had a record breaking number of entries, enough competition for even the most seasoned professionals, and a fan experience second to none. The talk around the event was how big the event had grown, and how the accessibility of the Polaris RZR has helped off-road racing grow and open the doors to the sport to new faces. Dax Shepard entering the 2018 event was proof that the Polaris RZR continues to be the gateway to off-road for people of all walks of life.

Shepard arrived at the event race morning, after wrapping up the filming for a TV show the night before. He quickly got to work with Jim Beaver and the RZR Star Car crew going over the ins and outs of their race spec 2018 Polaris RZR XP 4 Turbo. After the once over and a few media appearances, before he knew it, it was time to suit up and head to pre-race staging. Shepard would be taking the RZR off the start line for the first segment of the race. Staging in rows of 13 wide with six rows of racers, the pressure was on for Shepard.

Starting in the third row to take the green flag in the premier Pro Turbo division, Shepard had no hesitation as he laid his right foot down on that gas pedal and made his way around turn 1 in the middle of the pack. Shepard and his navigator Bryant Shontz worked their way around the 16-mile course flawlessly and put in a hard fought three laps before handing the car off to Jolene Van Vugt and Jim Beaver.

Former motocross champion and current Hollywood stunt person Jolene Van Vugt took the wheel of the RZR Star Car next, and put in 3 solid laps continuing to put miles down around a grueling track that ended the day of many of the other competitors. For the final segment of the race, off-road veteran and motorsports media personality Jim Beaver took the wheel and brought the Polaris RZR Star Car across the finish-line for a celebratory trip across the podium with Shepard and Van Vugt. It was all smiles after the for the RZR Star car team.

"In addition to the Polaris UTV World Championship being a ton of fun and a bucket list item, it gave me a deep respect for what all the men and women who race that series go through," stated Dax Shepard. "It also answered the age-old question: What do people who went 12 rounds with Larry Holmes feel like the next day?"

"Dax was incredible behind the wheel. I don't think anyone expected him to have such a good pace. He delivered the RZR Star Car to Jolene and I just like it was when it left the startline. You can't ask for any more out of a driver in his first race. He was very impressive and the door will always be open if he wants to come back for another event."

The next event for the Polaris RZR Star Car will be the 2018 General Tire Vegas to Reno held August 15th-18th and starting in Las Vegas, Nevada and ending some 550 miles later in Reno, Nevada. Be on the lookout to see who joins the Polaris RZR Star Car at the "Longest Off-Road Race in America."
