Going into 2017 Jerry Townsend and Ballistic Off Road Racing have joined forces with Got Your 6 Motorsports. GY6M is a registered not for profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization that works with veterans getting them back on the track of life.
From PTSD to amputees GY6M will work with veterans and their families offering them vocational rehabilitation training in the areas of welding and general fab work all the way to getting them out racing. Veterans share a common bond not felt or understood by someone who has not been in the military, GY6M looks to offer a time of fellowship and relaxation that veterans often don't feel in their day to day life after the service.
Formed in 2015, Got Your 6 Motorsports was founded by Army veteran and motocross rider Mike Garcia. With the help of generous donations from Monster Energy Drink, they began racing ATVs in various AZOP Promotions events. Looking to expand the program and move into UTV racing this year, they will be racing various WORCS series events and the TORC Series.
GY6M has teamed up with Iraq war veteran and professional UTV racer Jerry Townsend. Jerry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from off road and utv racing that is going to help bring the program to the next level.
The GY6M website and Facebook page are currently in the process of being completely rebuilt along with the addition of a new Instagram account. We are very excited to build on the foundation set over the last 2 years.
Also, look for us in the Feb/Mar 2017 issue of ATV/UTV Illustrated and other big media appearances to be announced soon!
