I like the fact that the Lonestar guys use a rod end in the rear pivot location. If you drive it hard, rest assured, the frame is going to move around a bit and it's nice to have
some adjustment to avoid caster or camber issues. If you aren't a stickler for alignment, you will still benefit from the ability to NOT let your car be a geometry lesson in parallelograms and trapezoids as it is viewed driving down the road
! Can't even remember how many cars I saw at the Mint whose tires "toed this way", or "cambered that way." I'm curious why only one rod end and not two? I know they're heavy versus bushings. Running 100% rod ends in the Monster Mav added nearly 50 lbs., including the weld bungs. The 7/8" uniballs are a robust, and smart upgrade for racing. Be aware though of the maintenance cost of uniballs vs. stock ball joints. The uniballs in our race Maverick wear out every 300-400 miles, whereas the stock ball joints in our pre-runners have around 3,000 abusive miles on them! This has all been my experience only on a Maverick. I'm guessing the wear issues with uniballs are an equal opportunity result!
