So Cal
Goggle just unveiled you no longer need internet access in remote trail locations to get to street/trail views on your Smartphone starting with national parks by Trekker software. I just got a Droid Max few days ago awesome phone, which has a huge battery life so I can GPS/Map my RZR and motorbike rides. Way I see it as this develops there will be no need for other GPS units, internet, or satellite. Other features my phone has is HMDI out so I can send audio-video to TV’s or docking stations or bigger screens and my phone acts as a browser and desktop, so I could dock/mount a bigger screen on my car and feed it with my phone, or just use audio guidence. Sweet! I can also run several applications like music, video’s, and simultaneously in separate browsers.

...so this depends on phone service right? If so how is this different from what the i-phone has had for years? I am not contradicting you, just curious what the delta is.

Opps forgot to give the news link: http://www.google.com/search?q=new+...u&sa=X&ei=7cLQT8C1O8e3hAeg79SRDA&ved=0CBoQqAI

BTW: Don’t ever think you can not disagree with me I don’t get my feeling's hurt that easy and love a good factual debate. :)

According the article, Goggle is reacting to a threat by Apple by thier own maps and Android is the only carrier so far. Sounds like they hike through trails w/cameras to get the off-line maps and are heading towards a goggle earth "fly thru" effect.
