NORRS – National Off Road Racing Series

May 6, 2009 For Immediate Release:

After a long off season, the now famous Pollock Engineering & Equipment boys are back at it again building upon their already highly respected status as big equipment artists. The NORRS series once again is extremely excited to be associated with such a high profile and respected group of guys and their direct involvement with such an integral element of the series success. The Pollocks pulled into the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster, Ca this last Monday morning and started setting out to add to their reputation as off road racing’s track building extraordinaires.
After speaking to Sutton, there definitely was an excitement in his voice to be back moving dirt around again. He also stated, “We will be starting first thing Thursday morning “ripping and watering†in an effort to build the best 6/10s of a mile off road track we’ve ever done. We always want to incorporate something new every time we drop a blade. We plan on some new things that we weren’t able to do last time we were here a few years ago. Big table tops, wicked whoops, a big stair-step table top, and something new, an off camber S – turn. This track will have everything a big track does, a high speed section, tight technical sections, and plenty of room for passing, but more importantly, a layout that will be conducive to competitive racing.†It sounds like the response that they are getting from the locals has been pretty good too. Shoppers at the local mall were excited to hear that off road is coming back to AV. The Pollock crew was also spotted at a nearby restaurant the other night and from what I hear, was treated like rock stars.
Let’s hope that the entire Antelope Valley is ready for the “dust before the storm.â€ÂÂ

Don’t forget that the race is May 23rd & 24th and the first episode of the 2009 season will be aired on CBS on June 6th. Check your local listings for exact time.
