Q: What is Duty Cycle?
A: Duty Cycle is the amount of time a compressor can be run in a full cycle (which includes the compressor’s run time & rest time to complete a full cycle).

FYI - VIAIR measures duty cycle using the following testing parameters:
100 PSI, 72 degrees Fahrenheit (laboratory conditions).

100% Duty Cycle - Constant Duty (the compressor achieves a maximum & constant working temperature and suffers no loss of performance).
40% Duty Cycle - 20 minutes on, 30 minutes off
33% Duty Cycle - 15 minutes on, 30 minutes off
25% Duty Cycle - 10 minutes on, 30 minutes off
20% Duty Cycle - 8 minutes on, 32 minutes off
15% Duty Cycle - 6 minutes on, 34 minutes off
10% Duty Cycle - 3 minutes on, 27 minutes off

Is there a service factor # as well ?
only servicing that has to be done is cleaning the air filter or replacing it as needed. This prolongs the life of the compressor. the compressor is an oil-less compressor & besides the filter, its virtually maintenance free. after years & years of use, the compressors are still rebuild-able with parts from VIAIR.

If you have an OBA (on Board Air System) on your UTV, if your using it out in dusty areas.. I would recommend pulling the filter out & blowing it out along with your UTV filter. If your out on your Utv & did not use your OBA, I would not worry about it.
