Can you hook up an i pod directly to the rugged system, so you can hear out of the head sets????

Yup Yup! iPod port right on the front with our auto dimming circuit. Music plays at full volume, when someone starts speaking it dims the music down to maybe 20% of the normal volume, so you still hear it slightly in the background but can hear all of your passengers, and when you are done speakign the volume comes back up to 100%. Pretty trick setup!
i just hooked my ipod directly up to my 4 channel amp... ran 4 mids and highs off two of the channels... ran a 12" sub off the other 2 channels bridged with low pass on

4 Kicker L5 12" , Hifonics 2000 X1 , Hifonics 125 X 4, Phoenix Gold 250 X2, 10 Kicker 6.5" coax, Aquatic Av Ipod deck, 2 Optima Yellow tops, 60A alt running off the crank.
All of this has been taken out by the way because i was constantly breaking axles and a-arms. It was fun while it lasted though.
