This is major news for Polaris and RZR / ORV as Craig Scanlon who has been the driving force for RZR since its beginning is now moving to take a VP roll with Slingshots.

I am sure things will operate at the high level we are all accustomed too but one can't help but think if and how things will change with Craig moving on to grow his career.

With all that said, we wish Craig all the best. More than a working partner he is a friend and this is a huge step for him professionally. We can't wait to see what the future holds for our friend and one of my mentors.

Breaking News!
3/23/15 BITD will now allow the Polaris SlingShot to be legal for class 1900.

BITD is excited to announce the Polaris SlingShot will be the newest vehicle allowed to race in the competitive 1900 class. BITD President Casey Folks said; It only makes sense to have the latest Polaris machine in our races. The SlingShot with its 3 wheels, no cage and 4 cylinder Chevy Ecotec engine looks to be the best platform for the ever so popular class 1900 class. Casey Folks also said: We had previously looked at allowing the Can Am Spyder to enter the 1900 class, but Cam Am was not interested in digging deep into their pockets and making the Cam Am Spyder interesting enough for me to allow Cory Sappington to change the rules ever so slightly to make it legal. Maybe with the introduction of the Polaris SlingShot, Can Am will change their mind and dig deep.

Craig Scanlon who is the new VP of the SlingShot division said; With the 1900 class in turmoil and currently looking for direction, and with my previous relationship with BITD and Casey Folk's. It was easy for me to reach deep into Polaris's never ending pockets of funding, and get Casey all the motivation he was going to need to make sure the Polaris SlingShot would be new the newest vehicle to enter the BITD 1900 class. Another great thing with running the new SlingShot in BITD is Polaris has insured that all Technical Inspections will be waved and no Polaris Slingshot will ever have to be technical inspected.

Craig also mentioned that JaggedX will be building several SlingShots to compete in the BITD 1900 class. He said during testing the have been able to reach 110 mph across the dry lake beds, and with all the speed they expect to literately float over the top of the whoops. Look for the Polaris SlingShot to be in the winners circle soon.
