Read on another forum that this is a YXZ with the MPI turbo kit on it, can anybody confirm or deny this?

that is with the 155hp turbo kit, or so they claimed on FB

they claim 0-80 run, which i did a simple stop watch calculation and get around 13 seconds 0-80mph, and just from eye balling it, it appears that took around 1000ft. thats not bad honestly. but i have worked on built motor XP1000 that are that quick. and i have a very good customer with a turbo maverick and a reflash and bolt ons that does 73mph in 300ft. which only takes about 5 seconds. the guys at EVO powersports have their big turbo kit that makes almost 160whp, and will hit the 85mph top speed (RPM limited) in just a hair over 6 seconds. in the grand scheme of things, this yammie is definitely going to be fast and fun, but its gonna still be playing catch-up cause the mav turbo guys are ruthlessly fast with all the mods that are out now. i also know a tuning shop that already has the XPTurbo and said they have the mapping done out to 20psi of boost. it wont be long till the XPTurbo is on the streets with reflashes that have them in the 75mph in 300ft mark. i am not trying to burst anyones bubble. just trying to give a different perspective on what fast actually is.

For desert racing we all know it's not how fast you can go, but how long can you go fast. With a belt drive you can not keep the car flat footed at 85 MPH across a 10 mile lake bed or 40 miles of long fast Nevada/Baja roads without blowing the belt. With a 5 speed gearbox like this YXZ that will no longer be a problem especially if this thing will do 100MPH like they claim it will. This car has a lot of potential right now to go out and win races. But one thing is for sure, Polaris and Can-am do not like getting beat and they will come up with something of their own sooner than later.

On the rear with the lower arm angled like that it creates some anti squat geometry. One of the weaknesses of a trailing arm set up is the torque feed to the rear wheels causes the suspension to sit down. Look at the videos of any of the BITD starts and you will see what I mean. Now look at the video of the Yammy at its release right after it comes out of the rusty tin shed. Its not a terribly hard acceleration but there appears to be no squatting going on in the back. It does not appear to be too much anti squat which is bad because it can effectively lock the suspension under acceleration.

Sorry for my absence. I have been busy moving, and my desktop is not hooked up. I hate this mini keyboard tap talk shit. I'm too old for it. Good news is I was contacted by a member, and he gets his yammy on monday.i really need to get a mental head start. Kind if wrap my sloshy brain around the car. Just seeing the chassis in person will afford me a few key decisions. Will the mods for a front steer conversion be overly extensive? What real estate is available for upper shock mounts? What does the factory cb joint alignment look like, and does it favor extending the wheelbase? That's what sucked about the polaris is that you couldn't extend the wheelbase without sacrificing drive train reliability (well that amongst other things). I'll try to chime in Monday after seeing the new baby ute. This is an exciting time for me and our sport. I'm anxious to exercise my brain because it surely ain't happening at my 6-2:30 union job.

I was think'n BadassXYZ
Nah, I know you. You're probably thinking more along the lines of "decrepit old fuck"!
You're only as good as your last race Jim. I guess that makes YOU a BADASS!
Hey, you're a machinist. My new employer wants my input on what kind of mill to buy. We need x and y servo drives with the ability to input at least 10 coordinates in memory so we can just load a part, and recall the positioning for the holes. They're ready to spend 12-14k on a new Jet (Bridgeport R-8 knock off). It doesn't need a massive quill dia., as we only will be drilling and notching aluminum extrusions.

Bam, looking forward to your opinions after you look at one on Monday. I looked at one today in person for the 1st time and must admit there were some things that impressed me and some that definitely did not

I'm curious to hear what disappointed you now that you've seen one in person. If you don't mind sharing your thoughts now, I'd love to hear them. I'm stagnating. Always the same thoughts in my head. Front steer, load carrying duties, motion ratios, blah blah blah. It's all getting old. I can use a paradigm shift right about now. It's almost like I've got tunnel vision. Maybe I'll go stare at a weld for a half an hour then drive home with nothing in my heads besides tinnitus!

I knew I should've wore earplugs when blowing out those frame rivets with an air hammer back in the early 80's.

I don't have near the technical knowledge as you but here goes in laymans terms.

Aesthetically the front looks very goofy in person, i liked it in the pics but did not in person, The front A-arms look very basic, does not look like much thought was put into it from a design point. Sway bar looks as cheap and as poorly mounted as the RZR's.

The rear of the car just looks off, i don't know if it is all the different angles but i don't like the way the shocks mount to the top tower in the rear, don't like the resivours that close to the exhaust, i also didn't like the way the front pivot point mounted on the bottom rear arm.

Spring rate looks to soft in the tender portion and very stiff in the bottom portion, i am going to guess a harsh ride in the smaller bumps and chop/rocks.

Seat felt way to leaned back in the cockpit like i was chollo cruiser, not in an aggressive ready to drive position.

axles looked small in diameter, i generally just had a feeling of disappointment as i was looking it over.

I did like the motor, it looks very well designed and thought out, looks very easy to work on and maintain. I liked the steering column and the gauges and wheel, very stout feeling not loose at all or anything like some other brands. overall center of gravity felt nice, you sit down in the vehicle a bit and feel surrounded and protected by the doors and etc.

From what i could see all the connections from the motor to the transmission and then out to the differentials looked very well thought out and very stout.

That is about it for my 1st impressions, now i just need to drive one and get a real world feel.
