When Scott Steinberger aka: “The Weatherman” decided to build a custom UTV to tackle multiple off-road rally events he went all out. A veteran of the Sonora Rally and NORRA Rally, Steinberger has his sights set on Dakar. Starting first with the Can-Am platform PCI Race Radios Owner and CEO reached out to Magnum Off-Road to handle the build. “I really love the Rally Raid format. It’s challenging and there is no set path to follow. My boys are now getting to the age where I want to teach them off-road racing so UTV’s are perfect platform. I also really liked the look as well as the fit and finish of the cars Magnum was building.

After years of racing in trophy truck I really wanted my UTV to look and fell like a race car. “Safety was also paramount.” stated Steinberger. The Magnum built car sits on Cognito arms front and back with King Shocks, Method Race Wheels and BFGoodrich Tires. The interior features Mastercraft harneses and Sparco seats. One interesting safety aspect is the placement of the fuel cell outside the cab as well as multiple fire extinguishers, and working doors that can be pinned to meet race regulations. As you would expect the communications and navigation are top notch and there are tons of extras. Take a look at the high level attention to detail of this amazing build.
