SR1 UTV Class to be Part of the Arizona Short Course Championship Series in 2010!!
Chandler, AZ (01/22/2010) – Weller Racing is pleased to announce that the SR1 UTV class will be included in yet another fantastic series for 2010 – the Arizona Short Course Championship Series!
The ASCC will be held throughout 2010 in Arizona at Speedworld Offroad Park, and will include such classes as Arizona Stock Trucks, Unlimited Buggies, and Trophy Karts. Appealing to the grassroots racer in all of us, the ASCC will be an affordable, fun series that will not conflict with the popular Lucas Oil Off Road Race Series (LOORRS) or the Traxxas TORC Series.
“We have been in talks with Tim Jones (President of ASCC) for quite a while now, even as he was still developing his series from the ground up. This series should fill a need here in Arizona for a local, well-run organization that is just plain fun to race in.†states Corry Weller. “We feel that Tim has created this series for the same reason we came up with the SR1 class – so that people can have a good time racing off road without having to take out a second mortgage on their house.â€ÂÂ
ASCC races will take place throughout the year, with the season split into three separate “seriesâ€ÂÂ. The first three races will be held in February, March and April, with a single race in the summer in June. The final three races will be held in October, November and December, thereby completing the 2010 race season.
“The schedule is good – it’s not too demanding, yet there is enough racing to keep things interesting. They are using the right people in the industry to get things done, and I think we will see some familiar faces both behind the scenes and on the race track come February. We are really looking forward to watching this organization grow in 2010, and we are excited to be a part of it!â€ÂÂ
