Yeah it's looking like the average temperature is sitting around 108-110 out there. It's going to be pushing them all to the limits.
tracker has Cognito out front in the turbo class and Burnett in Second.

Looks like Alonzo lopez missed the bottleneck and got a jump on the pack but Cognito is in front. Just got an official text from crew Cognito was in front at mile 165. getting texts now
Pretty impressive for Cognito considering they are racing a new turbo car. I think Burnnett is not far behind them.

This race reminds me of when Score had the Henderson 250 in August. The first year the temp was 115 and we measuerd a temp of 125 in the car. Fortunately we did not have the fatalities that have been rumored at this 500. But the course was littered with broke cars and pits with drivers who called it quits due to heat exhaustion.
I pray for those on and around the course and for the families of those who are not coming home.

Their car isn't a turbo. At rm 165 it was Lambert, Matlock, Jagged, Sappington, Angal when I left there. Waiting at the border in Mexicali now.
Score let him race in the turbo class? He has a turbo class number on the car. That makes it even more impressive he is leading.
