The heavily anticipated offroad viral video “XP1K3” was launched today via UTVUnderground.com. The third installment of the wildly successful film franchise features the driving skills of three time offroad champion, RJ Anderson. UTVUnderground.com and motorsports production powerhouse Mad Media led by directing team “The Martelli Brothers” hit the launch button this morning after debuting the new video to a crowd of over five thousand at Polaris Camp RZR West, in Glamis, California over the weekend. The video launched worldwide today, in conjunction with the opening day of the Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show (SEMA). It is also premiering in a special screening area within BFGoodrich Tire’s SEMA booth, alongside one of the custom built XP1K3 RZR XP Turbo cars. Visitors to the BFGoodrich booth will have the opportunity to see the vehicle up close, photograph it, get signatures from RJ Anderson, and pick up a free XP1K3 shirt while supplies last.

XP1K3 is six minutes of full throttle, turbo powered, mind bending offroad action! RJ Anderson fearlessly attacks massive jumps, high speed drifts, and treacherous man made terrain in his custom 200 horsepower RZR XP Turbo. XP1K3 was shot in the post apocalyptic dystopian decay of abandoned steel mills, old factories, and train yards and features an array of massive manmade obstacles spread out over six locations near Youngstown, Ohio. Tony Vanillo and his team of dirt and ramp engineers at OffRoad Management Group brought the insane obstacle course to life.

“For our third installment of the XP1K franchise, we put RJ in a variety of urban decay settings and created some incredibly challenging stunts. His car control for this chapter had to be spot on and it was. There were no airbags to jump into or safety wires to catch him. RJ executed all of these stunts for real. This is not Hollywood! There is no CGI lot’s of real smoke, but no mirrors! And no other machine on the planet can do what we dreamed up it had to be a RZR. ,” stated CoDirector Matt Martelli.

You Could Die. “XP1K2” is a seven-minute onslaught of intense off-road road action, set in a massive 600-acre forest near Mt. Baker, Washington. The video stars Off-Road Racing Champion RJ Anderson, driving a custom Holz Racing built Polaris RZR XP 1000 Side-by-Side (SxS), complete with a Polaris ProStar® 1000 Muzzys Performance engine and custom Walker Evans Racing shocks. The “XP1K2” crew, including Tony Vanillo and his team of dirt and ramp engineers at the Off-Road Management Group, transformed the remote wooded location into a stunning array of creative obstacles, which included more than 20 natural terrain and man-made works of (terrifying) art. Spoiler alert – RJ Anderson reclaims the world record for a distance jump in a SxS – and does so by clearing a death-defying 100-foot gap!

More than a year of planning went in to the development and execution of the “XP1K2” campaign. It took the build team of 10, more than a month to carve out the heart-stopping playground as multiple obstacles featured hand built “ladder trail” which required two to three days each to weld, cover in wood and secure safely. The Mad Media crew of 40 then spent 14 days on location battling wind, rain, mud and fog to capture each of their incredible imagined obstacles.

RJ Anderson’s XP1K2: Side-by-Side Off-Road Viral Film Now in Production

In 2013, UTVUnderground launched the first-ever branded viral film campaign for the Side-by-Side (SxS) industry. The campaign was dubbed “XP1K”, and brought together Polaris RZR, producers Mad Media, directors the Martelli Brothers and starred off-road racing champion RJ Anderson. XP1K took the SxS world by storm, and racked up an impressive 1.5 million YouTube views and over half a billion impressions world wide, making it the largest campaign of its kind for the UTV / SxS market. UTVUnderground is proud to announce the second installment of the campaign, “XP1K2” is currently in production.

UTVUnderground brought the same team together to produce a new mind-bending installment in the XP1K series. Anderson will return to pilot the all-new, custom-built Holz Racing XP1K2 SxS, which will feature a ProStar®1000 engine modified by Muzzys Performance, newly-designed Holz Racing suspension, and custom Walker Evans racing shocks. UTVUnderground assembled the best team to complete the project. They started with the best machine, the RZR® XP 1000, the best driver in the world, RJ Anderson and complemented it with the best producers and directors, Mad Media.

For XP1K2, Mad Media and UTVunderground have developed a stunning array of creative obstacles and death-defying stunts. They have transformed a private, 600-acre tree farm near Mt. Baker, Washington, into a mix of natural terrain trails, massive dirt jumps and more than twenty jaw-dropping man-made obstacles. Producing a project like XP1K2 is no small undertaking. More than an entire year of planning has gone into developing the concept for this year’s campaign. XP1K2 must meet the high expectations that SxS fans around the world now have. To make this happen, the team at Mad Media will once again tap the crew, equipment and techniques they have perfected over the course of their 20 years of film production experience. Conceptualizing the creative, set design, stunt list, site construction as well as cinematography and editing are all on the shoulders of the Mad Media team. In addition, Mad Media will also take the lead in working with UTVUnderground and Polaris in launching the campaign to the world.
