Gray Leadbetter, professional off-road racer and the first woman to win a Pro class title in Championship Off-Road history, will return to COR’s Pro Turbo SXS class for the 2024 season. Backed once again by Partzilla, Leadbetter and her boyfriend, Nitro Circus FMX star Banksy, have formed Gray Leadbetter Racing to compete for a championship in one of short course off-road racing’s most competitive classes.
“Starting our own team to take on the best of the best in Champ Off-Road is the craziest move of my career so far, but Banksy and I are thrilled to take on the challenge,” said Leadbetter. “It’s going to be awesome to bring the relationship with Partzilla into a new series for 2024 and build off what we’ve already accomplished together. I know they’ll have my back all season long with whatever parts we need to keep up front. I can’t wait to drop the green flag in Dirt City to get the season going!”
After racing Can-Ams in Nitrocross’ SXS class, where she finished third in 2023-24 points, Leadbetter will race a new Can-Am in short course in 2024. The new car was built to Pro Turbo spec by defending class champion Kyle Chaney for the coming season.
Leadbetter’s return to Pro Turbo SXS comes after two competitive years in the Pro SPEC class with Ryan Beat Motorsports, where she won the 2022 class title and set a class record with 12 consecutive podium finishes over the course of two seasons. In her last season in COR’s top UTV class, she finished ninth in points, where she was a mainstay among the top five finishers all season long.
