THIS MIGHT BE FUN. I HAVEN'T SEEN IT HERE YET. HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY TO BE ABLE TO GO OUT & PLAY IN OUR AWESOME BUT LIMITED OFFROAD RIDING AREAS? I WORK FOR THE LOCAL UTILITY AS A MAPPING TECHNICIAN. I SIT @ A COMPUTER ALL DAY WORKING WITH GIS & SAP. I USED TO BE A SURVEYOR, INSPECTOR, LOCATOR & IN DRAINAGE DESIGN I DREW UP MAPS FOR CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE & I ALSO DRILLED TEST WELLS TO CHECK FOR WATER TABLE & I CLASSIFIED THE SOIL SAMPLES. THIS HAS ALL BEEN FOR THE SAME COMPANY THAT I HAVE BEEN @ FOR 39 YEARS. SO TELL US. WHAT DO YOU DO?

My dad brother and I have a disaster restoration company. If you watch NASCAR you will see the ServiceMaster Clean trucks come out after a crash. We are a franchise company that specializes in residential fire, water and mold mitigation. We also do carpet and upholstery cleaning. We have been in business for 30 years. I have been in the business and a partner for 11 years now. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

You call this living;) I work for the man, the Taxman, and $4.75 a gallon for Diesel just so I can drive out to public lands to enjoy time with my friends!:eek::eek:
YES, BUT YOU ARE BREATHING & RIDING SOMETIMES. I REMEMBER IN 2008 WHEN I PAID $5.04 A GAL. FOR DIESEL. I KNOW IT WILL BE HIGHER THAN THAT BY THE 4TH OF JULY. YOU SHOULD START ANOTHER THREAD WHERE WE CAN VENT ABOUT THAT.

I am the principal design engineer for a medical start up company. I invent and design surgical and drug delivery devices I have just over 40 U.S. patents. Currently I am finishing a micro mechanical infusion pump for insulin delivery. I work hard to play hard and hope someday that one of these companies pays back so I can start my off road design and fabrication business! Then I can play for a living :D

Cheers,
Brett

I have worked for Unique Lighting for the past 8 years. As of January this year Unique was bought by the TORO Company and now I work for TORO as a design engineer. I get to design and build high end outdoor lighting.

Here is a lighting job I did for a friend.

I USED TO WORK WITH AUTOCAD, WE CHANGED OVER TO GIS A FEW YEARS AGO. I LIKE THE OLD AUTOCAD BETTER. THE NEW IS MORE LIKE GIS WHICH IS OKAY.
For my field of work - AutoCAD has been the best program for 3D modleing. Alot of people are unaware of the 3D capabilitys AutoCAD has to offer. The newer versions-that is.
Solidworks is another program that is great to know.
I eventually want to make my way to learning Revit-thats what all the big doggs use!!

26 years as a peace officer. Started in 1980
Retired as a Sergeant.
Worked as a patrol deputy, Field Training Officer, Investigator,
Made sergeant and was assigned as a patrol supervisor, and ran the depts. training program. Then Major Narc. Task Force, then Felony Movement Team, was the Sheriff's representative on the Countywide OES Disaster preparation and Management Team.
I loved it.
Working on the Narc Task Force was both the best and worst years of my career. We were focused primarily on meth dealers and cookers, and we took down lots of both. I was sometimes gone from home for 2-3 days, and that took a toll.
Retired now, destroyed my back at work.
Paying the price for the career choice. Few get out in one piece.

I am a critical care RN for the last 11 years. I did flight nursing for 5 years and now am working in our local ER. Eric had his own fab shop here in Havasu for 4 years but broke his arm last year at the Worcs race so we closed. He is now working on heavy equipment and fabricating at home.
