Accessory Options
Speed UTV is coming out of the gate swinging. The accessory options that are available will make this already great looking car, that much better.
We’re still waiting on the final list of accessories available along with pricing when you build the car, but some of the accessories available when you go to configure your car will include:
- Speed UTV Lightbar
- Windshield
- Heater/Fan
- Front Bumper
- Rear Bumper
- Roof Rack
- In-bed storage
- Race Radio
- Intercom
- Window nets
- 5 Seat Options
Keep in mind, a lot of these accessories are available installed right from factory if you get the LE or RG edition models. So if you’re thinking about needing an intercom, race radio or some window nets down the road save yourself the hassle and get the RG Edition model.
Speed UTV Bumper
If you look close enough at the renders provided by Speed UTV you’ll notice that the front bumper is actually sitting behind the front wheels.
That’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
Robby Gordon explained that when you’re out rock crawling you don’t want your bumper to sit in front of your tires waiting to catch on the ledge. You want your wheel to be the first thing to keep the car moving.
If you want to take your Speed UTV racing BITD/SCORE will require that your bumper sticks out in front of your wheels.
Gussets Gussets Gussets
In true Speed UTV fashion, overkill is the standard procedure, even when it comes to the parts of the car that most of us would overlook.
When you’re ready to mount an aluminum roof, or get ready to head out to the dunes and need a place to attach the antenna, you’ve got gussets and mounts ready to go. These are all welded to the frame, so you know your roof isn’t flying off when you bolt it down.
Right from factory you’ve got 5 places to mount and antenna or a flag on the Speed UTV.
That’s right, 5 places.
On the back of the cage, on the left and right corners you’ve got a spot to attach your antenna and a whip, along with a ground point (but more on why we’re excited about grounding points later), in the middle of the back of the cage you’ve also got a spot for a whip or a single antenna.
Speed UTV Grounding Points
Let’s talk grounding points. Full disclosure – I never thought I’d be excited to talk about grounding points.. But what makes the Speed UTV ground points special is again, the little things that make me so excited about this car.
Right from factory you’re going to get ground points in bare stainless steel metal. If you notice in the image above, you will have a ground point right below where you can mount your whip light, there will also be ground points on the front, rear of the car and next to the battery, so that you always have a clean, interference free ground planes on the car.
Gone are the days of taking a grinder to your brand new car so that you can get a clean grounding point. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s the attention to detail that makes this car special.

The progress is ever so present at Speed UTV headquarters, this week we got to see the almost completed chassis.

Robby Gordon also announced the Baja inspired graphics that you’ll be able to pick and choose from on the LE model. Below they’re presented on the El Jefe version of the 2021 Speed UTV.

Trailer Hitch
Speed UTV is meant to be used for both work and play.
You’re going to get a trailer hitch on the Speed UTV, it’ll be a standard 1.25″ width hitch. But you’re able to tow your jet-ski to the lake, throw a mountain bike rack on the back and take your friends downhilling, and after the weekend fun is over, throw on that trailer and take your Speed UTV to work on the farm.
Questions & Answers
Will you be able to remove the doors like on a Jeep?
Speed UTV does not recommend removing the doors due to safety, but the doors are bolted on. You’ve got one big bolt, you can can pull the doors off. Again, it’s not recommended.
Is there going to be a California farm tax?
Robby answered they are going through that right now, there will be an answer soon.
Is the wiring harness going to be prewired for accessories?
Yes, the Speed UTV will be prewired for accessories. The wiring won’t run all the way up to the light bar, but there will be wires hidden below the dash for you to wire in all your accessories, almost plug and play ready.
Can I order my Speed UTV from factory with a fuel cell?
No, due to government regulations, the Speed UTV has to come with a regular gas tank.
However, Speed UTV will offer a plug and play fuel system, as well as a spare tank to go under passenger side, which will increase your fuel capacity up to 25 gallons in the car, on which you could easily do 300 miles a day.
Will the enclosed cab Speed UTV have discounted preorder pricing as well?
Yes, keep in mind those cars will not be availale until June 2021. Speed UTV will provide the pricing soon.
What will be the output of the alternator?
The standard alternator will be around 100amp +/- 15amps.
Will the Speed UTV have on board diagnostics?
Yes, the goal is for you to have a downloadable bluetooth app on your phone. So you can bluetooth to it and figure out what’s wrong.
Will the new body graphics go on the hood and the tailgate?
Yes, they’ll go on the hood and across the tailgate.
Where will the Speed UTV back up camera be mounted?
More than likely in the roof of the LE car, right next to the 3rd brake light up top.
Things You Should Know
- Speed UTV is working with groups for extended warranty programs. They are also working to secure extended warranties with the Speed Key.
- If you order your car today, don’t plan on getting it until January or February of 2021. If you ordered your car around Sand Sports Show, you will get your car by Thanksgiving this year.
- In the event you only want to upgrade only one seat, you can swap passenger and driver seats in under 5 minutes. It’ll be a quick process.
Speed UTV Discounted Price
- Pricing has increased on the 4 seat El Jefe Model, you can still pre-order the LE El Jefe for $35,000, price will go up to $37,000 once it’s at the dealers. RG Edition is available for pre-order for $37,000, MSRP is $39,999
- Pre-order pricing on the 2 seat Baja Bandit and El Diablo LE models has been extended until July 20th at $30,000 for the LE model, or $32,500 for the RG edition model.
